21 weeks and having a quiet day with little movements - getting anxious

Hey guys. 8 days ago I’ve been feeling baby everyday and they became stronger to the point where I can feel her with my hand. I have a posterior placenta! I know you’re not supposed to kick count until 28 weeks and you don’t get consistent movement until then but is it normal to have quiet days when you’re around 21 weeks? I’m a bit worried. Today she’s been extra quiet (few kicks here and there) that’s about it.. she didn’t kick in a 6 hour period. I know I shouldn’t become to obsessed with anything… last 8 days she’s never really had a planned routine… it’s just “whenever” but it’s definitely reassuring feeling a kick once every hour or a good few kicks in a one hour period. She was active this morning but since then she’s been lazy - see I’m over analysing 🤣🤣

I'm 21 weeks and my little boy's kicks come and go, there isn't really a pattern yet. He's busier in the evenings but not always! Like you I'm trying not to overthink it just yet. But it's always worth calling the midwife and checking if you're worried!

I went in for reduced movements at 20 weeks but I hadn't felt her move for 24 hours. They were brilliant and said that they would rather reassure mums than have us worry! Although my midwife has since said she was surprised the person on triage let me go in given how early it was. Everything was fine, they are so little at this stage that they can wiggle into a place where we can't feel them. But if you are worried I'd say do ring up!

If it makes you feel any better am 27+ 3 and still don’t have a consistent pattern only difference is now I can lie down and give him a little poke and he will give me a little kick back most times

My midwife advised drinking a cold glass of water (with ice cubes) or some juice to get them moving.

I think they are also moving upwards as well at this point so they might just be in a new position that you feel less. I think this is why they say wait until 28 weeks to monitor movement.

But my midwife did also say just to give them a call if you are worried (fwiw my trust don't say count kicks anymore but get used to pattern from 26 weeks)

I'm also 21 weeks and have had very little movement - so little where I'm trying not to worry

At my 20 week scan she was moving around and I couldn't feel it, so at this gestation I'm putting it down to that

I didn't feel her at all yesterday until the evening and then when I was going to bed so I'm hoping as the weeks go on they will get stronger as others have indicated

But I understand and share the worries
Just trying not to as for me it's been one worry after another it seems x

I didn’t get consistent movements until 30 weeks. Would have days of lots of movement followed by days of very little to no movement before that. It is normal for them to get into a position where you can’t feel them at that stage, but of course always get checked if you really feel like something could be wrong. There were a few times I went to get checked just in case.

Just an update I'm 22 weeks tomorrow and the movement is definitely getting stronger xx
