Clear Blue Positive or Evaporation?

Corrij · 13/03/2022 19:15

Hey everyone! Can I get your opinion? Took this this morning along with a first response. The first response looked near enough negative, and at first I thought this was too. But then I went back at it looked like this about 30 mins later? I’ve had evaporation lines before but nothing like this!? It’s very blue! Any ideas?

If it's outside the time then it's a evap line, sorry Sad

Corrij · 13/03/2022 21:55

Thanks for your reply. V confusing. Last year I had the exact same thing happen. Looked at a test 24 hours later after I had almost disregarded it, but there was a line. Then went to the doctors and confirmed I was actually pregnant, even though the original line showed up way after the time slot. V weird. Will test again tomorrow with a couple of different brands and see.

So weird! It happened again this morning. This time I watched it and the line appeared within 10 mins. Not 3. It’ confusing cos they say that evaporation lines don’t have colour but these do. But they are also very thin? Is there something wrong with clear blue tests?

I had a very thin blue line on a clear blue and it was an Evap. I'd use the easy at home early ones. Cheaper and more reliable.

Try a different brand

My friend did a test and was negative, she but it in her bag and forgot about it. A few days later she found it in the bottom of her bag and when she went to throw it away she saw a line. Her baby is now 13.

Blue dye tests are notorious for evap lines. Stick to red dye tests, I prefer FRER because of their accuracy. Whilst more expensive than cheapies, you can trust their results so do less tests.

Sunnierdays7 · 14/03/2022 13:55

I would have said these were positives. Quick grab a first response x

nannygoatsforme · 14/03/2022 13:57

I have had evap lines exactly like this on clear blue

Corrij · 14/03/2022 14:22

I will keep you all posted. I know how fraustrating it is when a post doesn’t have a conclusion!

Please do.
Fair play for having restraint though I would of been at the chemist buying 5 packs of tests by now Wink

The latest update is that I went to the pharmacy to show the tests and he said that I must have picked up HCG to get those lines. I got some more of the same test and I had saved the FMU so I used one of them with that. I had actually left it in a coldish room for about 8 hours before I used it, but I used another clear blue test with the EXACT same urine as this morning and got another line but MUCH fainter. Oh my good god what is going on!? 😂 Same urine, different test results. Not sure if it’s a fault in the test or the fact I left the urine there for 8 hours before testing with it again.

Got some first response and another clear blue to try again in the morning.

Currently on day 36 of my cycle, but I have PCOS so not sure that even means anything. Boobs very sore. Bloated. But nothing I haven’t felt before.

Even on positive pregnancy tests i’ve had in the past ( 2 chemicals), my lines were never as strong as the ones I’ve posted here. So this is sooo confusing!

Are you TTC??
Erm yeahhhh probably 8 hour urine isn't the best to use.
I hade 2 chemicals before my third pregnancy so know how anxious it can make you.
Just try this evening, I tested at all times of day Blush about 10 times a day if I'm honest.

Corrij · 15/03/2022 09:16

Veryy faint positive on a first response today. Boobs killing me. Still not convinced. Gonna go to the doctor hopefully today.

Sounds like it's positive to me. Good luck, will have my fingers crossed for you. Please keep us updated.

Corrij · 17/03/2022 09:16

It’s been a super confusing few days. The clear blue ones got fainter then the first response ones got slightly darker. I started to think I just need to forget about, was sure this mornings test would be negative, but then another faint line on first response.

The doctor wouldn’t do a blood test because they wanted me to do a urine test first (so annoying).

But tomorrow I actually have a hospital appointment that I had booked ages ago to talk about fertility stuff. So surely to god we’ll know by tomorrow!?

Does anyone have any experience of faint lines not getting much darker very quick? It’s been like 6 days for me of weird lines.

With my successful pregnancy mine did get darker but very slowly.
With my chemical pregnancies they didn't get any darker at all, infact I think they got lighter.

Corrij · 17/03/2022 10:39

Yeah. With my chemicals i had faint lines for a couple of days then they disappeared or I came on my period. This has been totally bizarre to have those clear blue ones show up like that (which I think were just blue dye runs cos I read that pencil thin lines are not valid), the first response has been veryyyyy slowly getting darker (this morning I thought was the most obvious after a couple of mins) but after an hour or so the line on the test fades more.

Hi @Corrij what was the outcome? I done a clear blue test same as yours with the same result

Corrij · 09/04/2022 22:49

Heyy! Honestly I’m not actually sure what that was for me. I am not pregnant now so that was the outcome. I had 3 clear blue tests that looked like that and many many negative first response, but then also started getting very very faint lines on first response. Not one of them seemed like a definite positive, and eventually I came on a period that was no different to any other people so it makes me think it was just evaporation lines, the clear blue ones always appeared after 5 mins, so I was never sure it was a positive and the first response were so faint I really couldn’t be sure either.

I wish you the best in your outcome ❤️

@LotsOfLove1 get a different brand. Clearblue (as shown on this thread) are absolutely crap for showing lines when negative. Although if you are 4 days late there should be a very clear line on a test. You may have ovulated and implanted late. Get a decent pink dye test. Boots own are good

NoneB2024 · 20/02/2024 18:45
