Hi, new to mumsnet!
I’m kinda worrying a lot recently. Since I found out I was pregnant I’ve had absolutely no symptoms at all. I had PMS feeling like boobs ache but nothing major. I’m also 10 weeks + 2 days today and tried to use Doppler and had no luck finding anything obviously expected at such an early date but I see other mums find it quite quickly. I’m just struggling a lot to stay positive because I’ve had so many MS in the past and I kind of wanted to experience this pregnancy fully but all I can think of is “what if there’s no heartbeat at the 12w scan” I’m dreading it and just feel so depressed.

I’m wondering if anyone has felt the same -
Thank you

I've started a similar thread just as am having some anxiety myself ! I'm 9+5 and for the last week been feeling lots more human, if still about tired! The 12 week scan seems a lifetime away

Mumdiva99 · 12/03/2022 13:47

Perfectly normal PG anxiety. I did loads of PG tests I'm the first few weeks because I didn't 'feel' PG. With my second child I paid for an early scan. With my 3rd I finally relaxed and just trusted that I was.

In a few weeks if morning sickness kicks in, your heightened sense of smell, the later baby kicking you and lying on bits and causing aches and pains you will laugh about this....and wonder why you wanted symptoms!!

Congratulations to you both.

fromcitytocountry · 12/03/2022 13:53

Bar sore boobs and a bit of a dislike for some smells I have no pregnancy symptoms, and didnt with my previous pregnancy either.

I do find myself questioning if I'm pregnant but also go with the mindset that if there's nothing to indicate a change i.e pain, bleeding etc then I have to trust everything is ok.

As PP mentioned, additional scans can help. I had an early one about 9 weeks this time and could clearly see baby, little leg buds moving and a good heartbeat. It was reassuring whilst waiting for the NHS scans.

My advice: Throw the Doppler away! They are not good for anxiety and should only be used by trained professionals. They can’t tell you if your baby is healthy and you could accidentally pick up your own heartbeat or it will cause anxiety if you can’t find it when your baby is totally fine.

Book an extra scan if you’re feeling anxious, I felt very anxious during the first trimester and do still now sometimes, I hope it eases for you. Try talking about how you’re feeling to loved ones.

I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was almost eleven weeks for similar reasons, DS is now 3. Did book a private scan rather than wait for my NHS one and got told off by my midwife for not booking in earlier (I didn't know!) , but everything was fine. I think some people get earlier symptoms than others. I thought I was going to have an easy ride but then got SPD and could barely walk towards the end. My SIL was as sick as a dog for the first three months but was fine towards the end.

ChloeHel · 12/03/2022 14:38

First of all, don’t use a Doppler, throw it away! They cause so much unnecessary anxiety!

Secondly, why don’t you book a private scan to put your mind at ease maybe :)?

And finally, some people just don’t get symptoms! Count yourself lucky haha I’m 10+1 and haven’t gotten out of bed since 5 weeks with hyperemesis!

Thanks everyone you all understand thank you :(

Me! I’m now 14+3 and still no discernible symptoms. I was completely freaking out in my first trimester but the 12 week scan was completely normal so I’m learning to relax now. It’s super hard not to worry but really… unless you have bleeding or painful cramping, there’s unlikely to be anything wrong.

I would really recommend getting a private scan though if you’re worrying that much. I totally regret not having one and putting up with crippling anxiety for 2 months.

Livd23 · 12/03/2022 21:09

yeah, its just a long wait. constantly on my mind if baby is ok

Unfortunately symptoms don’t tell you anything either way. Sadly many people still have symptoms after a mmc.
You sound very normal for 10w, things do start to settle down.

I was the same. I prayed for morning sickness as I was convinced i wasn't actually pregnant for ages

Not everyone has symptoms.
