Hi. I'm currently 12+4 and for a few weeks I've been occasionally getting discharge like when you start losing bits of your plug, like snot basically. Had a scan at 11+1 and all was fine. Well tonight I've had a bit more but I'm not sure if there's what looks like a tiny bit if old blood in it. Is that something I should be worried about? I'm feeling quite worried😩

Not experienced this but didn't want to read and run.

Was your scan the 12 week of private? Did you ask them?

Have you asked your mw?

I know some people bleed on/ off all through their pregnancy with a healthy baby. So hard not to worry though.

My scan last week at 11 weeks was my original 12 weeks scan but wasn't as far gone as midwife thought so booked again for next week. I think I'm going to give GP ot midwives a call tomorrow for reassurance.

How are you doing @Jf1988 did you manage to speak to someone?

Hi yes we went for a scan last week but i ended getting poorly when i got there with bladder retention from a uti so was rushed elsewhere to sort that. They did a quick check for heartbeat and that was fine. 3rd attempt at scan next week 🤞

That's fantastic!

Sorry- the heartbeat not the uti!

@Jf1988 is this your first baby? With my second I was loosing bits of plug my entire pregnancy. Basically when we get pregnant a plug of mucus seals the cervix so germs don’t get in. It stays there until we start to dilate. But for people who have had children before their cervix will always be a tiny bit open so the mucus can keep dropping out in tiny bits but it will grow back. If it had blood in then it could be your cervix was irritated. Iv bled on and off I’m 11 weeks now I’m having a scan tomorrow but I find the heart beat all the time with my Doppler so I’m not worried, but my cervix is just sensitive I guess and it’s common because of all the hormone changes and the increased blood in our bodies when pregnant

It's my 4th! So that makes sense. Not had any with blood in since that night.

I had this and was terrified but it was absolutely fine. Might well be a cervical ectropion.
