Anyone had uti in early pregnancy?

I'm currently 5+1 weeks pregnant, I started light bleeding yesterday which turned to fresh blood over night, no clots but have had very mild cramping. The hospital are pretty sure it's a uti and possibly kidney infection too, I've been put on antibiotics, urine and blood samples taken so won't know my hcg levels till tomorrow.

Has anyone had anything similar and still had a healthy pregnancy? I'm already a nervous wreck as my last pregnancy ended with my son being born sleeping at 34 weeks

Really sorry to hear about your loss. Fingers crossed for you that everything is ok. I have had lots of UTIs this pregnancy and currently 37 weeks all has been fine so far.

@Hotcrossbunsinbed thank you for replying, did you bleed or cramp with them at all? x

Didn’t bleed but I did have some cramping / lower abdominal pain. Especially when I went to the loo. Good to get on those antibiotics ASAP and then I bought some home dipsticks to keep an eye on it as a UTI can be silent. Not usually an issue but it can cause problems.

I had a UTI 2 weeks ago at 5.5 weeks. I thought it was severe morning sickness as I felt so ill and shaky. My wee was pink with bits of blood which was so worrying. It tested clear when my GP dipped it, but she sent it to be properly tested and came back as definite UTI. I had antibiotics for a week.
I'm 7.5 weeks now and yesterday at an early IVF scan baby measured perfectly with heat beating away. Everyone felt my UTI was very normal.
Hope you get the results soon 💐
