30 weeks and not sleeping... anyone else?

For the past few nights I've literally seen every hour and struggling to switch off! I have a 20 month old who sleeps right through so I don't even have him to blame... it's more than likely my body getting ready for another little arrival.

Trying to work with very little sleep is not fun! Any tips? Wink

No tips, but sympathy. I'm 30+2 today and have been waking up between 2-4am for 2-3 hours pretty much since first trimester. Not every night, at the start it was more one night awake and several slept through, but as the pregnancy has progressed it's become more and more frequent. Now it's more like 5 nights awake in a week and two I sleep through. It's completely exhausting. Three more weeks until mat leave! 😴

You poor thing @GinnyBee! That sounds painful. I hope you are squeezing in some naps during the day Smile

Amazing that you are off so soon! I'm going off a week before my due date and already wanting to change the date...

Not much advice but I do understand how your feeling, mines been happening since New Year's Eve, I'm now 36 weeks pregnant and it's not got any better. I ended up contacting the doctors in tears for help, I'm getting roughly 2 hours of broken sleep a night, can't sleep during the day because my head says if I do I won't sleep at night again😩 the doctors said because of how bad it was they were willing to prescribe sleeping tablets but told me the risks so I declined.

What I have found that helps me, is not drinking after 8 o'clock, going for a wee as soon as I'm ready for bed, and wearing ear plugs. This seems to help me not wake up, because once I'm awake there's no chance of me dropping off again. I've been doing this for about 4 days, and I've had the best couple of nights sleep I've had in months. Worth a try for you to see if it helps

Sorry no advice but I completely feel your pain! I’m 34 weeks and since 30 weeks I feel like I’ve barely slept.
I see every hour of the night and now feel in pain when I try sleep on my sides so end up trying to sleep sitting up.
When I finally fall asleep I have such vivid dreams that wake me up.
Only nights I sleep kinda okay are ones when I’ve had a bath, our phone awah and just gone into a dark room.
Definitely going to follow pp advice and speak to my midwife next week because I feel like a zombie during the day!

I feel you. Currently 32 weeks and just keep breaking down in tears because of lack of sleep. No idea what to do :(
