More Fertile after a mc or giving birth- is this true?

Just that really!

I've recently had a mmc and now ready to ttc again.

Everywhere states you're 'more fertile' but how can you possibly be more fertile?
You can't ovulate more, the ovulation process isn't easier/ longer - am I completely missing something?

Feel free to point me in the direction of another thread/ information if you find it as I'm genuinely interested.

Thank you.

I am sorry for your loss
I had a Mc at 12 weeks with surgical intervention and got pg a week later so it seems you are very fertile after a Mc. I don’t know what the science behind it is though

I don't think you're 'more fertile' but the chances of anything going wrong may be less.
So sorry for your mmc. I had one, then 2 chemicals before my little girl. All pregnancies one after the other!
She's now 10 months old, I had 1 period last month and am now pregnant again.

When I worked for a to gynea I read a few books..

Apparently the stats are high for getting a bfp within 6 months of ttc post mc..

This is what I was trying to say! After mc, the odds are in your favour. That's probably where it comes from. Best of luck ttc 🤞

@Hoppinggreen sorry for your loss.
You got pregnant again super quick!
Hope everything went/ is going well for you with this pregnancy.

@User65412 sorry for your losses.
You sound super fertile though- were you ttc for long before your first bfp?

@Easterbunnyiswindowshopping thanks for sharing, it's so interesting.

I had a MMC and fell pregnant again on the first cycle after that (which continued as a successful pregnancy). I’ve had four pregnancies and that was the quickest I’ve ever conceived.

User65412 · 09/03/2022 21:27

We were only trying for 2 months before my first bfp so we were very lucky. And if it wasn't for early testing, I wouldn't have known about the chemicals but I can't help myself! It took about 3 months after the mmc for my cycles to return but I was so keen to ttc again.
Statisically, you are likely to go on to have a healthy pregnancy soon 💐

Ellie5341 · 10/03/2022 08:55

Thank you @User65412 so happy with your outcome.

@RomeoMcFlourish sorry for your loss.
Interesting what you say as it would confirm you were 'more fertile' potentially.

It just makes me wonder more- scientifically how?! Smile

Tried for two years for my second - got pregnant, ectopic, then after that was resolved I fell pregnant immediately, mc, then after that was resolved I fell pregnant immediately with DS2.
I work with pregnant women and the amount of women falling pregnant very soon after having IVF babies is ridiculous.
I think it’s because if you have any wonkiness with your hormones, being pregnant and the pregnancy ending resets it all.
So your womb lining is thicker, the phases of your cycle are the optimum length, your cervical mucus is more hospitable to sperm as is the rest of the environment which means sperm hang around longer and are healthier, your egg survives longer, the peristaltic motion of your Fallopian tubes is flawless, the hormones that maintain the implanted pregnancy are working really well etc.

My friend gets pregnant every single time she has unprotected sex, yet it took me years - we were both ovulating and our partners both had working sperm, so there is obviously much more to it.

Im pregnant naturally after 7 years of ttc. I had ivf which unfortunately ended in a mc but two cycles later and I got pregnant ! The biggest shock of my life ! But I agree, I think the pregnancy reset my body, it was like it suddenly remembered what to do ! It the only thing that makes sense

I had a miscarriage start of November, got pregnant again 6 weeks later. Didn't have a period in between, now 14 weeks pregnant.

I think so, I had previously been trying about 12 months so was so grateful I caught straight away after the miscarriage

Tina8800 · 10/03/2022 20:45

Had a mmc in November 2020 and as soon as the bleeding stopped we ttc. I didn't ovulate until February. Got pregnant in April and now I have a healthy 7 weeks old baby girl :)
I definitely wasn't more fertile after my mmc; my body needed a few months to get ready again.
