Navigating pregnancy after loss

Sorry to hear about the spotting for some of you, hoping it’s all down to something else and nothing to worry about!

I had a scan at 6 weeks with my first born and saw a heartbeat but I hear it’s quite common to also not see a heartbeat at this stage. It’s hard for them to call it so early.

For those saying they’re starting with a bump, I’m there with you! Just ordered some massive joggers and I plan to live in them now for the foreseeable 😅 I was just constantly wandering round with my jeans undone which was less than ideal .

Has anyone had the split booking apt? So where they do the bloods in one apt and call you for the other part of it? I thought I was having my booking apt last week but they just made me pee in a cup and took some bloods then apparently I’ll get a call for some questions this week but had to download an app and answer a load of questions on there too.

@1stTimeTina I have had both appointments and I had to download the badger app to fill in the questions before the midwife rang. Then she basically went through the questions. You should have been given a link to get on the app or a password xx

@1stTimeTina that's if we all use the same app sorry might be different apps for different areas 🤦 xx

Yeah that’s the app I downloaded too! Just waiting for my call from my midwife, apparently she’s been on hol but I’m eager to get my 12 week scan!

@SareBear87 Welcome along - sorry to hear you're having a tough time worrying. I'm not sure I have any good tips to stop that, but here to listen and hold hands if you like. X

I couldn't believe it @Skl2021! It has kind of made me relax a little but it was hard hearing her say it.

Honestly @speake @barneymcgroo @1stTimeTina, I can't wear anything now without people I know probably getting a little suspicious! Maybe it is because we've had children already, they do say you show earlier?! My jeans don't fit me 😩

@Hhdxx you should be able to take your partner with you now. I can't believe you went through what you did on your own 😞 You may be lucky and see a heartbeat at 6 weeks but don't panic if you don't, it's still very early days.

Hi @SareBear87, congratulations but sorry about your previous loss. The anxiety is so hard to navigate but if I'm honest, I've been way too tired to think about it anywhere near as much as I did in my last pregnancy. I think we just have to try and keep ourselves busy and do some relaxation techniques.

I'm really struggling today. My tiredness has been next level and I have absolutely no motivation to do anything. I'm not enjoying my food because I feel sick when I eat, but it I don't eat I feel sick. I'm ridiculously constipated. My husband is literally doing everything round the house and i feel like I'm not doing enough with my little boy of an evening after nursery. And worst of all, I feel like I'm going through all of this for nothing because I don't think there will be a heartbeat on Thursday 😩 Eurgh, sorry ladies, just feeling absolutely useless right now!!

@Cruz86 sorry your feeling rough I feel exactly the same just useless I feel like I can't do anything. My oh is doing as much as he can and all I want to do is go to bed. Sat here now falling asleep and feel so sick 🤮 xx

That's exactly how I feel @Skl2021 😩 I didn't feel like this in my previous pregnancies. I just want more energy 😂 xx

@Cruz86 I feel awful 😣 hope I'm not coming down with something aswell. I thought it would be getting better now not worse 🙈 xx

You're not far from 12 weeks so hopefully it eases for you soon @Skl2021! You're not giving me much hope though, knowing it'll probably last another 6 or so weeks 😂 Hope you're not coming down with something too xx

@aesgriff I had a long stretch with nothing so can't complain to much 🙈 didn't start getting symptoms until around week 8. Usually it starts earlier around 6 weeks and I'm sure it didn't last long but it was years ago so can't remember 🙈 can't remember feeling rough around first scan tho 🤔 I'm never sick tho I just gag at everything and feel sick morning until night! X

Thanks @aesgriff. I really can't moan but I am just SO tired! If everything is okay on Thursday then I may feel a bit more alright with how I'm feeling, but right now I just feel like it's all for nothing xx

@aesgriff I’m ok thank you, no more spotting since last week but obsessed with going to the loo / checking knickers / loo paper. Hoping the anxiety will start to ease off 🙏🏼🤞🏼 How are you?

@Skl2021 @Cruz86 you’ve both described how I’m feeling also, maybe the tiredness of looking after a toddler / child is just not compatible with normal pregnancy tiredness 🙈 My husband is definitely having to do more cooking too but mainly because the smell of almost all food makes me want to vom!

@Cruz86 try to stay positive for Thursday, we’re all with you 🙏🏼🤍

@Hhdxx it might depend on your healthboard but my husband has been allowed into epu with me since Oct. Hopefully you aren’t forced to be alone 🙏🏼🤍

@speake smells definitely set me off 🙊 cooked a chicken before seemed ok until I could smell it cooking and then I couldn't go near it for gagging 🤣🙈 I'm always hungry until I smell food cooking! X

I think you might be right there @speake! We're just noticing it more because we can't just sleep whenever we feel like it (although I have been during work hours 😬). Every night I've gone to bed with my little boy at about 8. I just can't keep my eyes open if I take him up 😂 And thank you, I appreciate your support and positivity xxx

Oh and I'm the same with smells too!!
