Just setting this up so we can move all pregnancy-related stuff from the TTC after miscarriage thread.

Spoke to the GP about progesterone, she said she'd never heard about it being routinely prescribed nowadays, she then googled it and told me I'd only get it if I went to EPU with any bleeding and they scanned me and saw a heartbeat 🙈 xx

speake · 31/03/2022 18:51

@calimc83 that’s the policy I was told too, I didn’t want to mention earlier incase it’s different per healthboard. Essentially previous miscarriage, current bleeding & a scan showing a viable pregnancy… frustratingly it seems to only be able to be prescribed by a specialist consultant too.

If you’re worried about progesterone levels maybe worth doing the medichecks test to see if they’re low & if they are trying to potentially get a private prescription. It’s a shame the NHS won’t just prescribe it on the premise that it could save a pregnancy when it does no harm using it xxx

Cruz86 · 31/03/2022 19:35

I'm not too bad thank you @calimc83! Struggling with tiredness, no motivation and constant nausea, but just hoping that they are all positive signs. Did you have many symptoms?

I was also told the same re progesterone and by the time they saw a heartbeat, my spotting had stopped completely so they said it wasn't needed. I did get mine checked at the beginning though and it was a decent level xx

@calimc83 massive congratulations!! So happy for you xx

Lovely ladies, thank you so much for your positive vibes ✨ I love this thread so much!! All ok, heartbeat and waving ♥️ Over the moon xx

@Cruz86 how did your booking appointment go? Xx

@speake yay 12 week scan!! Xx

Cruz86 · 31/03/2022 19:41

Honestly @aesgriff, I thought the worst because you hadn't come back here!! Soo happy you've had another positive scan 🥰 It was good thank you, we just went through my previous pregnancies and the birth of my son. I'm going to be referred to a consultant because it ended in emergency section and I apparently now have the option to go for an elective c section! Apart from that, just lots of questions about family history etc 😊 xx

@aesgriff brilliant news 💞🙌🌈 so happy for you 😁✨ xx

scoutcat · 31/03/2022 19:53

Congratulations @aesgriff!!! So very very pleased for you 🥰

@Cruz86 do you think you'll go elective? I had an emergency section too and I'll be honest it's very tempting! I was gutted that I didn't give birth vaginally at the time but I'm so over that now I think!

Cruz86 · 31/03/2022 20:01

I think I'll ask to book an elective in for as late as possible @scoutcat, preferably 41/42 weeks if they'll do it, to give my body as much chance to labour naturally. I'd love a VBAC but if it doesn't happen, I'm 100% having an elective rather than being induced!

@calimc83 there is a great leaflet you can download from Tommy's to give to medical staff. What a ridiculous thing to say to you.

flowergarden16 · 31/03/2022 20:13

Huge congrats @aesgriff

aesgriff · 31/03/2022 20:23

Awww @Cruz86 I’m so sorry!! It wasn’t until this evening so it was painful waiting all day. Sounds interesting about the C-section.. I think given the choice I would have an elective one too. How are you feeling in yourself? Xx

@Skl2021 thank you lovely lady! I love this feeling after a scan.. come tomoz I’ll be a ball of nerves again 🤣 xx

@scoutcat thank you soooo much!!! Xx

@flowergarden16 thank you!!! Xx

arianasky · 31/03/2022 20:26

@aesgriff aww amazing so so happy for you 🌈

Bridgey8 · 31/03/2022 20:40

@aesgriff yayyyyyyy! Amazing news! I'm day after scan - back to a ball of worry. But those few hours were nice 😂😂😂

Skl2021 · 31/03/2022 20:51

@Bridgey8 me too! 🤣 Doesn't last long does it! Already want another scan 🙈 xx

Bridgey8 · 31/03/2022 21:05

@Skl2021 do we get to hear heartbeat at 16 weeks with midwife... that's not tooooo far away x

Skl2021 · 31/03/2022 21:07

@Bridgey8 yes I'm sure mine said they would try! Do u feel any safer now your past 12 weeks? I don't know what I was expecting but my nerves are exactly the same I'm still checking for blood everytime I go to the toilet. Thought it would get easier but obviously not xx

Bridgey8 · 31/03/2022 21:18

@Skl2021 nope no safer!!! Just always waiting for something to go wrong. I'm trying to break it down into mini milestones.... as I can't look too far ahead. Did you get the screening done? Petrified about results at mo! Xx

Skl2021 · 31/03/2022 21:24

@Bridgey8 it's horrible we feel like this and can't enjoy it 😣 yes I had them done think they said I would hear within a week if something is wrong? Or no news is good news? Xx

speake · 31/03/2022 22:07

@aesgriff the best news, so happy for you 🥳💕

calimc83 · 31/03/2022 22:17

@Cruz86 ahh. Was that a private test? How many weeks are u now? Had some nausea and the headaches seem to be kicking in but that could still be covid playing its part as well! Boobs feel slightly less like spaniels ears as well 😂😂 ( always a positive!) x
@flowergarden16 oh that's interesting. Will have a look at that xx

calimc83 · 31/03/2022 22:19

@aesgriff Thank you lovely. Great news about your scan. How many weeks are u now? X

theblueflowers · 01/04/2022 10:55

Just after a bit of a hand hold. Had bright red bleeding yesterday. It was such a shock and all those feelings from before came flooding back. My GP was amazing, saw me straight away and made a referral to the EPU but they don't have space till Monday.

We have a private scan booked for tomorrow. The bleeding has stopped for the moment, but this happened last time, so I am expecting it to return. Can I still go to a private scan with bleeding? Really just want the confirmation, it's the not knowing that is the hardest.

So great to see so many of you with positive scan experiences recently!

arianasky · 01/04/2022 11:21

@theblueflowers ah I'm so sorry 😢 hopefully it's like many others on here have had and it's just some blood nothing else 💕I'm not 100 percent sure if you can go to a private scan if bleeding but I know window to the womb offer a recurrent miscarriage early scan for reassurance so guessing people would use that if they were bleeding? Sorry I can't help more 💕

speake · 01/04/2022 11:23

@theblueflowers I’m so sorry you’ve had bleeding, it’s so scary when it happens 🥺 Sounds like you have a great GP, there shouldn’t be any issues with your private scan. I’d maybe just let them know the situation beforehand I.e. that you’ve had a little bleeding & are there for reassurance that things are ok so they know to deal with you sensitively, let you know how things are looking asap etc. Its reassuring that the bleeding has now stopped, hopefully it’s just one of those unexplained things & everything is ok. Will be keeping everything crossed for you, let us know how you get on xxx

theblueflowers · 01/04/2022 11:38

Thank you both so much, I will definitely get in contact with them to let them know the situation. Now the long wait!
