I’ve just found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant right after an early miscarriage.

I literally can’t believe this. 6 weeks ago I was in shock when I discovered I was pregnant at 39. One week after having the positive test I had a miscarriage, must have been about 5 weeks pregnant at that time.

Now 5 weeks after that with no period in between I’m pregnant again…is this even possible!?!
This is such a rollercoaster of emotions. I never thought I could get pregnant at my age especially after having scans on my ovaries and then telling me they were very small and it was unlikely…then after 2 years with my partner and unprotected for a year with nothing I’m now pregnant in two cycles in a row!

I’m so worried it’s going to go wrong again.

"I never thought I could get pregnant at my age" at 39? That's not rare at all. Loads of women have babies in the late 30s and into their 40s!

Congrats, OP! I hope everything goes well for you!

Hi, it happened to me too. Miscarriage at 5 weeks and currently 7+ weeks conceiving straight away. I've read so much about successful pregnancies after early miscarriages, keep positive! Congratulations! Thanks

TinyRebel · 09/03/2022 17:38

Exactly the same thing happened to me with baby number three at 35.
Must admit, never fully relaxed with that pregnancy.
Congratulations!

This happened to me and I'm now almost 40 weeks!! It's felt like a very long pregnancy I have to say!

Ellie5341 · 09/03/2022 21:03

CONGRATULATIONS!

I've not long had a mmc and this is so lovely to read.

SequinCola · 09/03/2022 21:06

It happened to me and he's now 10 months old and sleeping soundly (for now Grin) upstairs.

I was very anxious for the whole pregnancy but the odds of a healthy pregnancy are just the same.

Good luck OP I hope everything goes well for you!

Plenty of bed rest recommended by Dr Winston

This happened to me, my son is 13 next month 🥰 so try not to worry xx

Hoppinggreen · 09/03/2022 21:10

I am sorry for your loss.
I had a mmc at 12 weeks with surgical intervention and then got pg 1 week later. My period hadn’t returned and it never occurred to me that it was even possible
It was physically fine, if a bit of a shock, but psychologically very very hard and may have contributed to my PND
However, DD is 17 now and it did all turn out ok in the end

Pyri · 09/03/2022 21:11

Exactly the same happened to me, am now 5 months pregnant. Congrats OP Flowers

Same thing happened to me too, early mc at 5 weeks, although I did then have a period, and then conceived straight away and now 21 weeks pregnant. It was a surprise! Many congratulations!

Raiseyourhand · 10/03/2022 07:36

I do feel many more symptoms then last time and it feels stronger. So fingers crossed.

I keep checking the toilet paper tho and every pain is a worry. I don’t feel settled at all or how to think.

I never had this feeling with my daughter. I was pregnant and that was it, never worried about miscarriages. It’s not nice not feeling happy just worried.

Hi OP. How wonderful for you. I hope the pregnancy goes well.

In the last five cycles trying for my second child I had:
A chemical (loss at four/five weeks)
Another chemical (loss at four/five weeks)
A cycle where nothing happened
A miscarriage at six weeks
Then the cycle that conceived my child straight after
