I don't have diabetes of any kind however it has been picked up after having heart palpitations that I have low blood sugars, even after doing the GTT my sugars were quite a bit lower than normal range!!

I eat well, probably eat a little bit too much sugar than I should but I make sure I get protein and veg in at meal times and if I snack it's usually a piece of fruit.

Did anyone else experience this? I'm having more bloods done with doctors and had an ECG but they mentioned diabetes which confused me as thought that was always high levels not low!

gestational diabetes is basically an inability to regulate your blood sugar (because your hormones are all out of balance) and you can get high or low readings. One thing that can happen is your sugar levels spike high and then crash down really low.

It’s really not caused by what you eat but you can help regulate it through diet. I assume you’ll be referred to the gestational diabetes clinic and given advice Re diet and blood sugar monitoring.
