Anyone given birth at 35 weeks?

I'm coming up to 35 weeks, I'm not in labour but my mind will not stop racing about going into labour soon. So much so every twinge, back pain or braxton hick and I think it's imminent. This is my second child and I didn't have this at all with my first.
I know I'm being crazy, blame the hormones or anxiety but if I could hear some stories of mums who gave birth around this time I think it would give me some peace of mind.

Hey, I had my daughter at 32 weeks (I have a womb condition) pregnancy was super stressful as was told she could come even earlier. She's 7 now and absolutely fine! Try not to stress xx

GADDay · 08/03/2022 07:18

Yes. Dd (DC3) was born 35+2. She was 5lb2, in perfect health and came home after 48 hours.

Wordlee · 08/03/2022 07:20

Mine were born at 36 and 34 weeks. Both absolutely fine. We were in hospital for a few days with both but nothing serious. Just make sure your bag is packed etc!

Yes I had first at 32 weeks and second at 35 weeks. Was a planned c section as she’d stoped growing. So small for dates but I steroid injections for her lungs and there were no problems at all. Home after a couple of days. I was also lucky that 32 weeker had 5 weeks in SCBU but no issues other than being early and small.

Try not to worry but equally listen to your body and do go in if you need to. I had pre eclampsia with first and somehow seemed to just know something was going to happen as I was prepared for early arrival.

boymummys · 08/03/2022 07:30

I'm feeling the exact same as you, I'm 35+2 and getting more Braxton hicks. Never got them in my first pregnancy, he was born on his due date. And I've heard second usually come sooner then the first.

He's head down, has been since my 32 week scan, very strong braxton hicks, and increased clear discharge 😩😩 I'm paranoid at every twinge! Your not alone

Sprat12 · 08/03/2022 15:01

@boymummys - I'm 32+2 and have had a considerable increase in discharge over the last few days - FTM so no flipping clue about anything - is this something to be worried about / does this mean he is on his way?!

Ha! Same here Smile

He's 6' 2" now, making his late lunch ...

My 4th was born at 35+3. Weighed 7lb 2oz and home after 4 weeks in nicu/scbu.

blindmansbluff · 08/03/2022 15:07

My son was born at 34+5 weighing 5lb1, he spent the first 3 months catching up by guzzling milk and is now 11 and 5ft8 🤣

cultkid · 08/03/2022 15:10

Me

My son was born at 35 + 4

He was tiny tiny tiny

I had him by c section and I was asleep
He weighed 4lbs 4 oz
He had a feeding tube they put in (on reflection I think they could have avoided this)

He was in SCBU for 4 days with no treatment just the tube but I bottle fed him on day 4 and took him home

He was so small when he was born

Now over the 90th centile for height, 75th for weight. You would never know he was premature

They are incredibly well developed at this stage

Sending you all the love xxxx

@Sprat12 I've heard it could mean labour is close towards the end of the pregnancy. As odd as this sounds I've never had discharge of any kind in my underwear, but this last week I've been alot (sorry tmi) it's uncomfortable trying to sleep at night with it too, I've mentioned it to the midwife who said to keep an eye on it. Can be normal or could be that labour is approaching😩

BusySittingDown · 08/03/2022 15:12

My mum gave birth to my sister at 34 weeks. She's perfectly fine.

My friend gave birth to her second son 12 years ago at 34 weeks. He was a little chubber at 6 lbs Grin again, perfectly fine.

Sprat12 · 08/03/2022 15:21

@boymummys thanks for the info, I'll mention it to MW at my appointment next week.

Sure it's nothing to worry about at this stage, though I have been having some period like pains in the evenings for the past few nights so possibly things are moving.

Sorry OP - didn't mean to derail thread!

2 babies both born at 35 weeks.
Stayed in for a week with both of them- just to keep an eye as I had them early due to different conditions. They were next to me in the cot and not in ICU. One was 4lb and the other 5lb. Try not to stress- easier said then done I know!!

sadpapercourtesan · 08/03/2022 15:30

I had my first at 34 weeks, he was 8lb 7oz. He'll be 20 this year and has no physical health problems, though he is autistic.

Fieldings15 · 08/03/2022 15:41

My first was born at 34+4, and weighed 5lb, he was basically fine but needed to be in hospital 10 days to put on weight and learn to feed etc. I also had quite strong Braxton Hicks from around 20 weeks in that pregnancy. Just be on your guard for waters breaking early as it’s not always obvious, it can be just a trickle. Just get checked out if you’re not sure! Good luck, hope it all goes well for you Smile

Areyoiboredyet · 08/03/2022 15:44

My DT's were born at 34 +2 both tiny and in neo-natal unit for a few weeks. They're now 15 and DS is 6ft tall

Yahyahs22 · 08/03/2022 15:58

You've all made me feel so much more at ease, thank you! I have a midwife appointment this week so I'll discuss this all with her.
Like a PP my discharge has increased significantly too

37 weeks here 8lb+ baby.

My friend had a baby a short while ago, twinges from 32 weeks and we all thought she’d have an early baby. Baby came at 41 weeks (second baby and first was early). Try not to worry too much!
