Silly question, are slushes / slush puppies ok in pregnancy?

Just had a slush puppy and now panicking thinking I shouldn’t of had one. Im 5 weeks.

I think you'll be fine OP. The NHS website is a good place to check for foods you can't have in pregnancy

@RagzRebooted good answer 🤣 I am so worried about misscarring. I remember reading online someone saying the ice can have bacteria in slush puppy machines and instantly started to panic

If you start googling foods you'll never eat anything

Otherwise you'll end up like my SIL who didn't eat anything containing egg for her entire pregnancy because "someone told her it was bad".

I was due in October and lived on slushies in the summer (I had HG so was very limited what I could eat!)

It's not officially advised against on the UK. The machines don't automatically have bacteria - but poor cleaning regimes could potentially lead to listeria growth.

I'd happily eat soft serve from an ice cream van with a food hygiene rating of 5. I wouldn't eat one from a random stand at a fair with no visible rating - but then I'd probably also avoid anything else they are serving too.
