I’ve had cramps that have continued for over 24 hours. They are similar to period cramps but slightly higher up. I’m 5 weeks

Yes I had this a lot. I think it's normal at this stage.

@CheekySwifter thank you, was yours constant?

I did….. I’m 11 weeks and still having them. Mine feel like period cramps and sometimes take my breath away. I had an early scan at 6 weeks because of them and all was good.

@Rachelw730 thank you and congratulations. I’ve got a 6 week + 2 day scan next Wednesday just for reassurance. We’re your cramps constant as well?

Hi!
I'm 14 weeks pregnant & still get intense period cramps quite often!

I've come to realise I think it's the norm, can't remember having it with my other babies but it's been a long time!

Rachelw730 · 06/03/2022 16:40

@Emmah120595 yes, constant and still are. When I went for my scan, the midwife said that it’s a good sign as the uterus is stretching and growing. I’m guessing it’s just one of the many symptoms we’ll have. I hope your scan goes well 😊

Thank you for posting this as I came on here to ask the same, I'm 5 weeks tomorrow and lots of cramping x

Yup, normal. The uterus does a lot of growing in early days even when baby is tiny. I had it constantly from when period was due for a couple of weeks, then a little break and more stretching for more weeks.

Lastest bout started around week 12 and still going at 17 weeks. Later on it becomes less like period pains and more like aching muscles after an extreme exercise. I think because the uterus comes out from under pelvis around 12 weeks so different muscles become involved.

@Emmah120595 this is definitely normal, if you have cramps with no bleeding then everything is fine it is just stretching. I had these basically from the very start of my pregnancy before I even knew I was pregnant and I'm now 11 weeks on Wednesday and still get them every so often xx
