I think it's something to do with improved blood supply maybe. When my baby was in distress in labour I had to stay lying on my left side.

I feel like baby is squished when I'm sleeping on my side as the baby moves to the side I try and sleep and starts kicking, does this mean the baby doesn't like it? It happens whichever side I sleep on!

I have an anterior placenta this time and can feel the kicks when lying down. Maybe they are kicking but you can just feel it when lying down?

I used to do better led on my left than right, but hates the 18 weeks-ish of not being allowed to sleep on my back! Firat thing i did after the birth was sleep on my back finally

Thank you guys! I'm on my 3rd trimester now and sleeping getting more and more difficult. Especially as the only option I have is to sleep on my sides which the baby doesn't seem to like.

My midwife told me the baby moves upwards towards the other side that I'm not lying on...I have a baby adamant on being transverse and to be honest she does flip over and I get the hard bump on the side I'm not lying on so there may be some truth in it!

It just changes position when you move onto your side, it doesn't care or not like it, it just wakes or moves it.
