Early pregnancy no baby on scan!

So I thought I was 6 weeks 3 days pregnant!
Had spotting/light bleeding and cramps.
Went doctors, was referred to GATU.
Had bloods, examination, swabs and scan.
My hormone level is 700.
Scan couldn’t see anything apart from at one point two small circles, she said she wasn’t sure if it was a sac, amniotic fluid, blood or what? She wasn’t the best as I have a titled cervix and I had to suggest my fist behind my lower back to enable her to see better.. after that the two “circles” couldn’t be seen.
Anyway, I have to go to EAPS on Sunday now (3 days after being at GATU) to have more bloods.. which they’re hoping my hormone levels will double.
I’ve been told that it’s a unknown location pregnancy and that I’m still at risk of being eptopic as they don’t actually know where the “baby” is…. If there is a baby at all?

I’m so emotional atm. I’m terrified as I feel like I’ve lost my baby. I don’t think it’s eptopic as I’m not in that much pain, we’ll I don’t think so anyway?

So sorry you're going through this! How long ago did you get your positive test? I'd be concerned that there wasn't even a sac present and if you're over 6 weeks your levels are quite low....if you only got your positive test a short while ago it could be that you ovulated really late!

Got a positive test two weeks ago! Very faint on a strip test and positive on digital saying 1-2. My last period was the 18th-23rd jan. But I had irregular periods before this, anywhere from 28-34 days. She said at one point she saw two small circles but said they weren’t clear and couldn’t tell if it was sac, amniotic fluid or what.

I had this an today was told it's blighted ovum. Hopefully not the same case for you. Fingers crossed xxxxx

I hope your OK, I also had an early scan on Thursday my last period was around the 25th of Jan.. was told I am more likely 4.5 weeks only an empty sac on internal scan, have to go back in 2 weeks, still have cramps. Hope all goes well for you x

Could you be earlier than you think? It’s very difficult to see anything less than 6 weeks of pregnancy and scanning too early can lead to unnecessary anxiety in a perfectly healthy pregnancy if you are in fact 5+ weeks and not 6+. The BHCG levels will tell you more at this stage, it’s the difference between the 2 that tells you more than a one off reading.

I’m irregular so I could of ovulated later than “expected” I’ve just been going from my LMP. I’m still very light bleeding, using a panty liner a day. So it’s light but more than spotting if that makes sense.
I did another strip pregnancy test last night as I had a box of three and it came up instantly a dark strip so surely that means my hormones are going up?
It’s all just so confusing as I’ve never had this before.

I had this, no evidence of pregnancy in scan but high hormone levels and positive tests, it was also classed as PUL. Had bloods done every couple of days for a couple of weeks but it was going up erratically and they still couldn't see pregnancy so ended up being medically managed as ectopic. It was a really confusing and upsetting time so sorry you are going through this. Hopefully your bloods will show a steady increase

It was about 2 years for me too, it is devastating I really sympathize, I was in bits. I know it's hard but try to take your mind off it until you get the results of the bloods. They never saw anything in my uterus (or in my fallopian tubes they think the egg implanted by my ovaries or cervix) so maybe the fact they can see something is a positive sign.

The only good thing was that my body had finally realised I was trying to get pregnant and I did go on to have 2 healthy children.

I suppose I’ll have to wait until Sunday.
Nice to know I’m not the only one who’s experienced this makes me feel slightly less insane.
So sorry you had to go through that.
I’m glad you went on to have two healthy babies 💛
Fingers crossed for me either way that we eventually get a healthy pregnancy.

It's very early to spot a pregnancy - sometimes they can but by no means always. I had spotting at that point and went on to have a successful pregnancy (no early scans back then) I then found out it's highly likely it was initially a twin pregnancy but one didn't develop

If they can’t find the baby then they will say they are not sure where it is so don’t worry.
As for being 6 weeks and seeing an empty sac it’s not the end just yet. A hcg of 700 is a little low for being in the 6th week but as long as it doubles that’s all that matters you could have ovulated later. I first got a positive with my last baby when I was just 7 days pregnant! It was the faintest line Iv ever seen infact my partner couldn’t even see it and thought I was seeing things until I took another that afternoon and he could see it this time. So if I’d have gotten a scan 2 weeks after that, which I did because my hcg was rising very fast it went from 94 at 4 weeks to 4200 7 days later. That gave it a doubling time of 30 hours, where it should be I believe 48-72, so I got an emergency scan the same day and all we seen was a sac and yolk sac and possibly the start of the baby, I had to go back again a week later and they couldn’t sign of me until they seen a heart beat and they did see a heart beat the next time. So they didn’t see that until the middle of the 6th week nearer 7 weeks. But she did say something about hcg having to be 1500 to be able to see something on the scan but I’m not sure how accurate that is. Or what she meant by it.

Also with another of my children I was being used as a model to help train sonographers and I was scanned every 2-3 days from week 4-13 at a place near my home. I got to keep all the pictures and just have free scans so I was happy about this, so they scanned me at 5 weeks and seen the empty sac, each scan just showed the empty sac time and time again and by the time I got to 6 weeks it was still empty and they said they were worried at this point I was having a blighted ovum but my symptoms were becoming very strong and the vomiting had stated so I hoped they were wrong and it wasn’t until just before week 7 when suddenly the baby and yolk and heart beat were there! Everyone was shocked! They continued to scan me and he was an average size for the weeks I was and my pregnancy went to term.

So please don’t worry yet there is still

Went back today. Hormone levels have gone up by 100. Back to hospital again Tuesday to check hormone levels and another scan. So fingers crossed 🤞🏽

I have a tilted uterus too and none of my babies could be seen on a scan until at least 9 weeks. I was told for 2 of them that the pregnancy probably wasn’t viable but I knew they were wrong. And they were!

Haven’t scanned me today, they’re going to on Tuesday with more bloods. So fingers crossed there’s something there by then 🤞🏽 Xxxx

She did see two small “cystic spaces” as they’re called as they couldn’t identify if it was a Fetus. I’m hoping my body is just awkward like yourself! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Fingers crossed for you, this must be such a worrying time.

In my experience, my first pregnancy was a missed miscarriage and I'd seen a heartbeat at one scan and then it had stopped at another. When I'd seen the heartbeat in that pregnancy and then again very early on in my next pregnancy (with my now dd), it was a clear pulsing.

I truly hope it works out for you but please you protect your heart.
