I did a test this morning which was positive, but as my period is only a day late, that only makes me 4 weeks pg. Is it way too soon to make a doctor's appt? I've reasd some threads where people have been made to feel silly at doctor's cos they've gone too early - how long should I wait?

I went at 5 weeks - no problem. It just gets the ball rolling. Congratulations!

I'd just go - gets you into the system, even if there's not much else useful they can do for you at this stage. Expect the whole thing to be a bit of an anticlimax, though

And CONGRATULATIONS!

There was a particular hospital that I wanted to go to so I went along at 5 weeks to make sure I got an early referral.

The only thing you need this appointment for is to get yourself in the system and referred for a 12 week scan. Going at about 8 or 9 weeks is absolutely fine and makes sure that you haven't had an early early m/c and then have to cancel a scan date....
