Just looking into raspberry leaf tea for the next few weeks, would you recommend it? I never had it with my first son so very curious on the benefits!

Yes I drunk it with my last 3 and could feel the contractions were a lot more quicker then the first and felt that it really helped with the post contractions too. Didn't drink it in Labour with my last as was worried it would speed me up too much, but did drink lots after.

Yes 💯

Worked well for me, I took the tablets as I didn't fancy the tea.

I assume you close to your due dates as it’s really not recommended before. I tried it and I’m not sure I felt any ‘contractions’ after drinking but my DS was born at 39 weeks so perhaps it worked?!

SunnySideUp2020 · 03/03/2022 20:07

I tried but everytime I had it I felt weird after. After a few times I just decided to not have it.
Can't explain what really was happening but just didn't feel right... (and am not normally like this haha)

I went 10 days overdue...

Nope! I used it in the last 3 weeks of pregnancy, always had braxton hicks immediately after drinking it. When I went into labour the midwife said I was hyper stimulated and there was no gap at all between contractions right from the start. The midwife asked if I had been drinking raspberry leaf tea and said this can be a side effect. I've had 4 children ( never used the tea with those pregnancies) and never had that before and the last one ended in emcs. I'm too old to have more kids now anyway but I would never have had it again.

I drank it from about 38 weeks, went overdue by a few days but actual labour was fast, 4 hours from waters breaking to baby appearing.

SouperNoodle · 03/03/2022 20:34

I had it religiously at the end of my pregnancy with my first and experienced high blood pressure. After some research, I discovered it could have been caused by the tea.
I didn't have any with my second and my blood pressure was fine.

BettyOBarley · 03/03/2022 20:35

I took the capsules with my second and was in active labour for 45 mins! Never even got to open my hospital bag before he was born Grin

I took it during my first pregnancy, went into labour at 39 weeks with contractions but my waters didn’t break. Midwife broke them after 4 hours but then I dilated really fast i.e. too fast and went to theatre. Still think the tea had something to do with the contractions starting before waters and don’t think i will take it second time around.
