I’m quite young and quite irresponsible admittedly. I’m clueless about pregnancy. I had unprotected sex about 2 and a half weeks ago now and the pull out method failed and I’m not on any kind of birth control. I took the morning after pill next the next day but then I realised this only works before you ovulate and I checked and I had definitely started ovulating not long before I had sex. My period is 5 days late now and I’m feeling very nauseous, fatigued, have cramping in my lower abdomen, peeing quite often, tender breasts and I’ve just noticed I’ve started having a lot of white discharge. I’m worried sick and I feel I have no one to talk to about it and I really don’t know what to do I’m not sure why I’m typing this out on some Internet forum.

Take a pregnancy test girl! And keep testing if you get a negative and still experience these symptoms.
mumofmunchkin · 03/03/2022 09:36

It's not unlikely from what you've said. You really need to take a pregnancy test.

WheelieBinPrincess · 03/03/2022 09:40

Not unlikely but I am curious to know why you’re aware of the time of your ovulation, when I was young and not trying to get pregnant, I certainly wouldn’t have been able to pinpoint ovulation.

shorty181 · 04/03/2022 16:25

I only know because I really didn’t know how the morning after pill even worked and I looked it up and it said it won’t work if you already ovulated and I honestly didn’t even really know what ovulation meant before this but I worked it out and found out when I would have been

Hmm

MarshmallowsOnToast · 04/03/2022 16:28

honestly - if you're at the point of a missed period, there is only one thing to do...

Take a test. Don't torture yourself instead.

Any test you can get your hands on will show at this point if you are pregnant.

Sunshinegirl82 · 04/03/2022 16:32

You need to do a pregnancy test, doesn't have to expensive, a Poundland one will do.

If you're not pregnant (and don't want to be any time soon) then it would make sense to get some sort of long lasting contraception on board that you don't need to think about. When I was younger I had the contraceptive implant and it was great.

ChloeHel · 04/03/2022 16:34

What emergency contraceptive pill did you take? Was it levonorgestrel or ulipristal (Ella one).

Ella One is more effective if your close to ovulation. Did the pharmacist/GP explain to you that taking the MAP can delay periods? So it could be because of that. We always say if you haven’t had a period within 2 weeks of your usual date then take a pregnancy test.

But yeah, like all the others have said, you may as well take a pregnancy test now.

Piggyk2 · 04/03/2022 16:37

Do not keep testing OP.

Worrying will delay your period most likely. Hmm @WheelieBinPrincess exactly I agree.

Do you have an app like Flo that tells you what date your period is due? I would hang fire and test once your period is late.

You need to call your GP soon assuming your not pregnant and sort a permanent form of contraception if your not ready to have a baby yet

Period trackers will tell you.

Take a test, if you're having all those things it's not looking good just get it over with and you can think straight and make a decision

It already is late
Suprima · 04/03/2022 16:46

Take a test

You could be pregnant

We cannot tell you if you are or not

shorty181 · 04/03/2022 19:49

Hi thanks for your comments. I know the only thing I can do really is take a test I just wasn’t sure if I’m being silly or not about it. I think I was just putting of taking a test because I am really expecting the result I don’t want. I took Ella one but I got it online delivered to chemist I really didn’t have any information on it

Did you take it? Thinking of you. I've been there, it's the scariest feeling. But whatever happens, you have options and all of them are equally valid.
