Surviving a c-section single with DC?

My relationship is going down hill rapidly, and although DH may still be here when baby is born but I very much doubt he will so anything to help, he will probably become horrible if he is made to do stuff with the DC 2 and 5.

My DM can come and help but doesn't drive so can't expect her to pay £10 a day for taxi's so might be every other day.

I'm hoping he will take DD to school at least

Any tips how to survive with 2 children and a newborn after a c-section?

Sorry to hear this OP.

Can your mum move in with you for a couple of weeks? Or would one of the school mums be able to help with the school runs?

Realistically, you’ll be resting up for the first 10 days at least, and won’t be able to get the kids ready easily, so plan for help with that.
Practical steps - get food in that can be simply heated up (no cooking), and hopefully your mum will give you a hand with laundry etc.

You really will need someone around for the first week or so. Your oh should have paternity leave to give you a hand, even if he’s not with you at the time, but if that’s too stressful/ unreliable, you need to consider alternatives.

Once past the first week or so, it will get easier as you recover. You can also get signed back on to drive before 6 weeks if that’s a concern.

Do you drive the kids to school?

Sending hugs as this sounds like a crappy time for you.

At least you can plan ahead for when it's happening and get childcare sorted etc

@Snorkello yes it's around a 20 minute walk otherwise! If he does leave my sister could possible move in to do the morning school run but she works full time!

Thank you for all the advise I really appreciate it
