Hi,
Has anyone given birth covid positive? I’m in hospital about to have a c-section Thursday and my daughter has tested positive, I have been with her and I’m starting to feel unwell, 90% sure I have it, hospital have done a pcr waiting for result.

I’m so scared and worried now, the midwife told me not to worry but I can’t help it.

I’d like to hear other people’s experiences so I can mentally prepare myself.

Thanks

I have just recovered from covid but was concerned about this as I was (& still am) overdue but midwife just said they would wear more ppe & keep you separate from other patients & do some extra monitoring on the baby.

At my hospital it means you’ll get a nice private room, one on one post natal care and will be wel looked after.
Good luck!

My friend gave birth in a hospital when she was covid positive and it meant she had a private rooms etc. but because her partner was positive he wasn’t able to be her birth partner so I’d be aware that that might be a possibility if your birth partner is likely to have it too

I have my mum on stand by just in case, my husband is still testing negative so fingers crossed.

I didn’t have it at the time but my pcr came back as positive because I had it at 37weeks. I was treated no different. They said that all that would happen is I’d get a room on my own but that didn’t happen either 😂
