Any positive stories ? Decreased HCG and only gestational sac seen on screen 5w please?

I did ask on a previous thread about similar but I really just wanted to be more specific and find out any positive stories.

Got a positive test about 7DPO and have been testing strong positive since.

So it makes me about 5w6 today.

Had a blood test at the weekend and HCG was 232. Today it was 212. Had a scan and sonographer could only see gestational sac. Told me pregnancy is in an unknown location and to wait and see what happens. Not ectopic.

Has anyone had this happen and had a positive outcome ? Could I have my dates slightly out? What about the slight HCG drop?

Any sunshine on this very sad rainy evening would be hugely appreciated. Thankyou xx

To add- no bleeding, no cramps, and still have sore boobs and the odd wave of sicky xx

Hi there, I was told at about 5 weeks that although they could see the gestational sack, there was nothing inside it, no heart beat or sign of life, but that I should come back in 10 days and see again as it may have just been far too early to see anything. I went back at 7 weeks and they found a heart beat. Daughter is now a teenager, dont give up hope. I am not sure about HCG levels though as they didn't test mine.

@alison39 did they say the sac was normal size? They told me it's measuring small x

5 weeks is very early for a scan, they often struggle to see anything before 6 weeks.

Unfortunately though, dropping HCG is sadly a bad sign. At this stage it should be increasing rapidly.

Gosh I am so sorry i can't remember it was nearly 15 years ago, I cant remember them mentioning the size of it, but am guessing that only 5 weeks it would be very small anyway.

I know it's so hard to say but try not to worry too much, concentrate on being brave for the next scan. My fingers are firmly crossed for you and I am sending you lots of positive thoughts xx

I am going through this right now my HCG at 4 weeks and 5 days was 5000 then dropped to 4800 at 5 weeks. I have no cramping or bleeding either. and my digital tests all keep showing 3+
