Understanding Iron/Ferritin blood test results

Hello everyone,

So I just got my blood test results and the doc told me my iron was 17.7, which she said is very low and gave me supplements. I asked what the lower end of a good range would be and she said 3. She wasn't keen on explaining when I sounded confused, so I didn't press further.

Does anyone know how to read iron/ferritin blood test results?? The numbers don't make sense to me and I can't tell if my iron is really low or not that bad ...

Hey, ferritin levels

17 would make you pretty tired! Mine was 6 a few years ago (I was in bits)
I think the optimum is 70-100??
Mines prob 40 now if I’m lucky!
