Constant cramping concerns

Hi all,

I've been obsessing over posts on here, no idea about all the acronyms so forgive the lack of them please

I am 32 y/o, six weeks pregnant, first pregnancy. For the past 1.5 days I have had cramping similar to a period that has required paracetamol to take the edge off, no bleeding.

I have been googling it and I guess I'm concerned because everything is saying cramping is normal but in brief periods of time! As this has been going on all night and day I am more worried. Anyone have a similar experience or advice?

Thanks x

I had this at the beginning of my pregnancies, I constantly felt like my period was about to start. I think it can be related to the embryo implanting in the lining of the uterus.

Totally normal. Congrats Flowers

very normal! I had constant cramping up until about 9 weeks and even now at almost 12 I still have the odd day where I have slight cramps. All very positive signs as long as there isn't any bleeding to accompany, means your little one is nestling in! congratulations :)

I had this for weeks and weeks! The result of it is now smiling at me and playing with a muslin cloth Grin

Congratulations and wishing you all the best for your pregnancy Star

@Tinadecember thanks! When you say weeks and weeks was it all day too? I think I'm just worried that it's not just sporadic it is consistent all day! Keep expecting my period to arrive!

@bombombo thank you! I'm just worried anyway but then this just felt unusual and came out of nowhere! I know you get occasional cramps but didn't think all day and night Confused

Every little twinge will make you worry but it’s the embryo nestling in and then your womb preparing to grow. It’s about the size of a pear and needs to get bigger than a melon!

I had this exact thing from 6 dpo up until about 5.5 weeks. I was taking regular paracetamol and had hot water bottle glued to me. Thankfully they went off but i do feel a bit crampy from time to time. It’s all totally normal as long as you’re not bleeding alongside them.

Yes, I recall cramping pretty much all day long and like you I was worried I would go to the loo and see bleeding. It should start to ease in a few weeks time. Early pregnancy is horrible!!

bombombo · 01/03/2022 10:16

@HeneyM mine were the same honestly, all the time and it felt like my period coming. They eventually tailed off and gave way to the morning sickness instead which was horrible but weirdly reassuring 🙈

I was really worried too but I hope it helps to hear positive stories of women who've had similar experiences Smile DS is coming up to 4 months old now but it feels like 5 minutes since that early pregnancy anxiety!
