Hello! Thought I'd start this group as it doesn't seem to exist yet and would be good to hear from anyone due in November! I know it's ridiculously early days but it's nice to have other people going through the same thing at the same time ☺️ x

@Motherofpugs @tigger2022 @Overlyanxious @SonicHg @Pamctake2

Thank you so much. Hearing that what I am feeling is normal, makes me feel much better. I have a psychologist that I used to talk to before and recently went back but after my first session it made me feel much worse, which is weird. I was crying and sharing all these thoughts and didn't feel better afterwards. Unfortunately perinatal counselling is non-existent in my small country so hard to find counsellors with focus on pregnancy and post-partum.
In any case, I do hope these feelings switch soon as I really want to enjoy my pregnancy and being a mother rather than dread every second of it!

Anyone else (that doesn’t need early scans for medical reasons) holding out for the NHS 12-week scan?

I keep changing my mind about getting a private scan done at 8 weeks. Yesterday I changed my mind three times 🙈 I’m worried if I go for an early scan and they can’t see much going on then I’ll spend the remaining time up until 12 weeks scan in major anxiety panic mode. But also, the thought not knowing anything for another 7/8 weeks is worrying me too.

I don't plan to. It feels such a long wait for the first few weeks but actually now it's only a few weeks to the midwife appointment and then it will be only another few weeks until the NHS scan. I had an emergency scan with my first around 10 weeks as I had pains (it was all fine) but waited till 12 weeks with my second
Bramblecrumble21 · 22/03/2022 10:09

I'm waiting for 12 weeks. Although I do ultrasound for work (not featal) and it's tempting to have a look! But I shouldn't.

Pamctake2 · 22/03/2022 10:23

@BabyBird20 I also haven't lost the weight from my last pregnancy and I am trying to lose at least some of it now. The NHS website says you shouldn't 'diet' during pregnancy but also says that you should eat a healthy, balanced diet and exercise regularly - to me they are pretty much the same thing. I'm not going to do anything aggressive but I will be aiming to lose about 4kg in the first trimester as feel like it's better for me and baby. I didn't have any nausea with my last pregnancy but this one I'm feeling very low-key hungover all the time so it is difficult not to reach for beige food all day and night 🙈

I was going to wait until 12 weeks because I was thinking what's the point in going before, but now aside from just wanting to know everything is ok, we have a few people trying to get us to commit to travel plans over summer and later in the year so I think I'm going to have a scan at 8 weeks, then all being well I can share the news.

Now that thought has come into my head, I don't see myself changing again. At 5+2, waiting until 12 feels unreachable whereas 3 weeks is more in grasp.

Cocobeau · 22/03/2022 10:29

Anyone else constantly sneezing? This has to be one of the more bizarre symptoms that I never knew existed. About 5 days before I took a test (with no clue I might be pregnant) I remember going home and saying to DH, "I think I'm getting a cold, I've sneezed about 15 times this afternoon and feel all bunged up."

Then the following week I googled early symptoms and that was on the list, which made me take a test. I don't think I've stopped sneezing ever since then.

Motherofpugs · 22/03/2022 10:41

Not sneezing but with my sons pregnancy I had hiccups every single day from 5 weeks until I gave birth Confused My midwife had never heard of it before. Pregnancy does weird things to your body! Grin

I probably will, because I really want to tell my mom on (US) Mother's Day, which is 08th May, but I want to have reassurance of viability first and probably won't have had the NHS scan yet as I'll only be 11 weeks. Going to hold off on booking a private scan until I get the NHS appointment date through, though, just in case it happens to be a bit earlier than 12 weeks. I've heard they can take place anywhere from 10-14 weeks, so I could get lucky and get one at 10 weeks.

Omg that would drive me insane Shock
smiles39 · 22/03/2022 11:24

@FourOclock Maybe if I had a first appointment booked I would feel more relaxed, I know it varies by trust how long it takes etc. I will ask my friend who is in the same NHS trust as me when she heard back after self-referral.

@birdtree18 that sounds like a sensible plan, I will stop mulling over it until I hear back about my NHS appointments.

@Cocobeau that makes sense. I guess I don't have any real reason to get an early scan other than impatience haha. RE: the sneezing, YES! I have been off work yesterday and today with a cold. Sneezed so hard yesterday felt like my insides had ripped, that caused a major panic. Starting to think it's not a cold... constantly sneezing still and nose will not stop running, but not the green 'ill' kind of snot, it's all clear.

xreadytoglow · 22/03/2022 11:25

Morning all. 7 weeks today, baby is the size of a blueberry 🫐

Has anyone started taking bump pics or have done in the past? I'm looking for an app that has the things already set up for like '7 weeks' 'baby is the size of a...' etc. but the only one I found you have to pay for! I've used Instagram but I hate the quality when you save it off there. This is my first so I'd love to document my growing bump 🤍

BabyGally22 · 22/03/2022 11:26

I'm looking at all of your mad symptoms and I'm so jealous, I don't really feel any different bar the odd af type cramp which has me knocked checking like a lunatic!!!
I'm going to my gp today, do they do a urine or a blood test at first appointment does anyone know!??

BabyGally22 · 22/03/2022 11:28

*knicker checking 😂

Oh god! I'll keep the sneezing thanks. That must be horrible!
boringperson123 · 22/03/2022 11:50

I’m 5+1 today and my only symptoms are mild cramping and feeling emotional which is a new one😂

My boobs don’t feel sore or anything

Is it for your booking appointment ? I never saw a GP but went straight to midwife and they don't do either.
BabyGally22 · 22/03/2022 12:01

@Galaxyrippleforever I think it's booking, I just rang up and said where were at and she booked me in so not really sure what to expect.... I might ask for blood test to make sure Hcg rising, we did ivf so our first pregnant test was Hcg

Galaxyrippleforever · 22/03/2022 12:03

Oh, congratulations on the IVF. That's wonderful.

Can I join? I'm actually due on 2nd December but I think I will ask for elcs this time, which I think means I would have the baby slightly before that date. I've only just tested positive so I've got a long time to wait!
I was sick yesterday morning which was depressing, as I wasn't sick until 6 weeks with my daughter.

Funnily enough I just posted a thread about apps and based on answer I have installed Pregnancy+. It looks really good so far and you can choose to upload your own bump photos.
BabyBird20 · 22/03/2022 12:16

@smiles39 I ended up getting one at window to the womb at 7 weeks last time and it was so worth it just to see the heartbeat and know it all looked ok. I'm almost certain I'm going to end up doing the same this time though we are pretty skint so shouldn't be spending money on stuff like that. I think if they do see anything worrying you can use it to self refer to epau for follow up on the nhs rather than waiting for your 12 week but I'm not certain on that!

@Pamctake2 thank you, I reckon I'll try and do the same just to try and alleviate my anxiety about the increased risks. It was bad enough in my last pregnancy when I was told I was considered in the 'at risk' category because of my weight when I was size 12/14, 12 stone and bmi 28!! 😬😬 My main problem is the nausea and wanting salty crisps or digestive biscuits at the moment!

@Cocobeau not constantly sneezing but last time I felt like I had a permanent head cold, stuffy nose etc which apparently is a common symptom 'pregnancy rhinitis' 😬 maybe ask your doc if you can use any of the nose sprays to help alleviate it a bit?

@xreadytoglow I used three apps last time (slightly obsessed!) 'what ti expect' is a decent one for information/vids about each stage ans size though quite cutsie/American in presentation. The pregnancy+ one has a space for you to take and keep pics of your bump each week and does a 3d image of what the baby looks like ag every stage which is pretty cool.

Bramblecrumble21 · 22/03/2022 12:56

@Cocobeau I have a free app called pregnancy+ where you can add photos and weight. I'm not because I don't like that sort of thing. The app has told me it's the size of a blueberry at 7 weeks. I like the app for the week by week 3d model of the featus. There are premium settings but I don't think that's bump photos.

I've been sneezing a bit and my nose is so stuffy, especially when I lie down. No relief from blowing my nose either. I've heard it's a common symptom though!
smiles39 · 22/03/2022 13:23

Fuck it! I've booked an early scan for 8 weeks, at least I can stop changing my mind about it. My friend said she didn't get contact from the midwife until 12 weeks, let alone first appointment and then scan.

Countdown begins, 28 days til I see little bean!

Casper94 · 22/03/2022 13:45

@pamctake2 no not at all! Just being an anxious Annie at the moment, need to try and relax and let my body do what it's supposed to do! 🥰
