Hello! Thought I'd start this group as it doesn't seem to exist yet and would be good to hear from anyone due in November! I know it's ridiculously early days but it's nice to have other people going through the same thing at the same time ☺️ x

Here's the new link for the Facebook group 😊 (sorry they expire after 48 hours so keep having to generate new ones!)

Everytime you generate a new link I click on it and it doesn't work! Any advice?
FourOclock · 21/03/2022 13:05

@roobearbaby it's weird it just doesn't work for some people I don't know why! If you message me your Facebook name, I can add you to my friends list and then add you to the group that way Smile

roobearbaby · 21/03/2022 13:07

@four0clock thank you. Just got to work out how to message you privately now 🤣

Cocobeau · 21/03/2022 13:15
@Cocobeau yes me yesterday - out for lunch with my mum (who I've not told yet) and Aunties, my Aunties started questioning me on when I was going to have a baby as they always do (body clock watchers), and my mum, bless her, leapt to my defence explaining how well my career was going and how much responsibility-free fun my partner and I were having in our new home 🤣 she will be chuffed to bits I'm pregnant not doubt but I did want to stop her pointing out the positives of not having one yet!
Ahh bless your mum! I love that she was right on hand to defend the well-meaning but nosey people who feel they can enquire about the status of your ovaries. I get that soooo much, especially since we got married last year. It's going to be so lovely to share the news with your mum - even if she does have to try and do a u-turn on those positives of no kids [laugh]

Tzcyp · 21/03/2022 13:23

Hi there,

new here at mumsnet and a newbie in general! I am 7 weeks and struggling to get excited about my pregnancy. I am moody and anxious. I am generally suffering from anxiety and this added to it. It was technically a planned pregnancy although happened unexpectedly quick. I am 36 and have been with my partner for 19 year now. I always felt that I didn't want children and lately I reluctantly accepted that we start trying. On one side, I say I would be happy without and on the other I kind of cannot imagine not having a child with this amazing husband and human being.

Am I being selfish and irrational? I really want to feel happy and excited but all I feel is sadness, anxiety, dread and guilt. :(

Motherofpugs · 21/03/2022 13:56

@Tzcyp I felt a lot of similar anxiety when I was pregnant with my first. I was never that maternal and deciding to start a family was a huge decision for me. My son is now 2 and he is just the best. I found out that I am actually really maternal (only towards my own kids though Grin) and I took to becoming a mum really well. I certainly don’t regret having him as you can tell by me being here that I’m having another one! I really love being a mum. You will probably find as your pregnancy progresses and you see your baby on scans and feel them move that you will start to bond with them more and that anxiety will turn more into excitement. It is a huge change but it’s one that is so big that you don’t really remember or miss much of before. You aren’t being selfish or irrational, it’s totally normal to feel the way you do.

tigger2022 · 21/03/2022 13:57

@Tzcyp I think this is really understandable, bear in mind too that your hormones are going crazy right now. It's impossible to know how you'll feel until it becomes real like this! I always had a tendency towards anxiety but I had recovered so much in recent years (a lot of my tics and compulsions had virtually vanished), with all the hormones though and with the stakes so high this is the most anxious I have felt in YEARS and some of my old tics are even starting to come back... Sad

Overlyanxious · 21/03/2022 14:02

@W1ngingit that's great news on the scan. Will your next one be at 12 weeks?

@Tzcyp there are lots of people in your situation - I'm sure if you search on Mumsnet you will find a thread dedicated to it. My friend was the same - but she's very happy with her now 3 year old and does not regret making the decision to reluctantly try. Pregnancy is also a very anxious time - so that's probably not helping. Perhaps try some counselling to try to help you through all the different feelings you have

W1ngingit · 21/03/2022 14:06

@xreadytoglow thank you! Have finally referred myself to the midwife. I have held off as it seems a little too early. You are finding out if you have two as well right? Best of luck for Thursday. Keep us updated!!

@sarahj878 Thank you so much! A bit of a relief for now. x

xreadytoglow · 21/03/2022 14:18

@W1ngingit No I only transferred one! Although my wife jokes that we're having twins 😂 I can't see that happening though.

W1ngingit · 21/03/2022 14:23

@Overlyanxious Thank you! I think my clinic scan on a weekly basis until 12 weeks. We are going away for a long weekend so it may be toward the end of next week that I go in. I'm still on loads of ivf meds - running out of unbruised space!

How are you getting on? x

Overlyanxious · 21/03/2022 14:43

@W1ngingit ah that's good you have so many scans. I just get one at 8 weeks which is next week Thursday for me. It feels like ages away. Ouch on the bruises - luckily no injections for me - just the fun of pessaries and tablets

Indianna2006 · 21/03/2022 14:57

Placing myself. Will go off the link too ☺️

Known a couple of week but 5weeks 5 days I think..

Planning to book an early scan at 8 weeks. Got very sore boobs. Had a 3+ on clearblue digital 4 days ago.

Otherwise still doesn’t seem real! Hope you ladies all okay.

Due date 16th November ish I believe xx

Cheetocat · 21/03/2022 16:00

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well. I actually concieved on Valentine's Day, I find that so funny! I have a GP appointment on the 28th but no idea when I'll have a scan after that. I don't know what to expect from any of this. I am 6+6 today!

SonicHg · 21/03/2022 16:21

@Tzcyp I know someone who was vehement on not having children and had one unexpectedly and was completely besotted by him.

polkaqueen · 21/03/2022 16:56

@ALittleBitofVitriol hello!
Scan was nervewracking but went well! Baby is definitely there with a strong heartbeat, could even make out facial features! Measuring at 5w 6d (actually I think is 6w 3d in time)!

BabyGally22 · 21/03/2022 17:03

@polkaqueen congrats that's lovely news!!! I have mine on Wednesday, what exactly does it entail???

Pamctake2 · 21/03/2022 17:36

@Cheetocat as standard you have NHS scans at 12weeks and then again at 20weeks - some trusts then offer a scan into the 3rd trimester. I've got a private scan booked at 8weeks because I'm too impatient to wait until 12weeks 🙈

@Tzcyp sounds like you are going through a lot... personally I'd recommend speaking through all of this with a professional as it may help just to get it all out there. I think feeling overwhelmed is totally normal even if you've planned it x

Loving seeing so many positive scan stories, so fab you're all getting to see your little beans, I'm getting equally excited/ anxious about my scan next week. We've just listed our house and our and offer in on a bigger one which may be a bit premature considering I haven't seen that baby is all okay in there 😬

OtiMama · 21/03/2022 18:03

I cannot seem to find the FB group, sorry can someone PM me or me PM them about it?

I presume it is private and nobody on my FB will know I've joined?

thanks
Alexa

xreadytoglow · 21/03/2022 18:13

Congratulations @polkaqueen that's great news.

polkaqueen · 21/03/2022 18:19

Thank you!
It was an internal ultrasound (before 10 weeks) so be prepared for that!
They find the embryo on the screen and then check for a heartbeat. I was amazed at how clear the picture was. They then measure and date it from that. And they check your ovaries to make sure they are looking OK too.
I had a cyst where the egg was released but she said that's quite normal and should go by week 12. Good luck!

Casper94 · 21/03/2022 18:20

Oh my god I'm such an idiot I work in care and I just helped get someone up off of the floor without even thinking about it and now I'm fully panicking I'm gonna have caused some damage!!
