Hello! Thought I'd start this group as it doesn't seem to exist yet and would be good to hear from anyone due in November! I know it's ridiculously early days but it's nice to have other people going through the same thing at the same time ☺️ x

Hi everyone 👋 cautiously joining the thread after getting a faint BFP on Saturday and a much darker one this morning :) I think I would be due around 25th November but my last 'period' was a 5 week miscarriage in Feb. Feeling more optimistic about this one 🤞 this would be my 2nd, we have a daughter who is 15 months old. Hope everyone is well and those further along aren't suffering with morning sickness too much! X

OtiMama · 21/03/2022 08:07

Hello everyone,
would love to join the group. Just found out I'm expecting my second. I'm kind of in shock as I had my coil out end of January, had a random short bleed a couple of days after but then no period came. I tested a few times over the weeks and then gave up. Did one expecting it to be negative and very quickly came up positive.

Glad to share these months with you all, when I had my son in 2020 I found the group on here an amazing support. ❤

Bubblegum20 · 21/03/2022 08:43

@Bramblecrumble21 just seen your comment about bananas, there literally one of things I can't get enough of lately 😂 them and snack a jack caramel rice cakes!

OtiMama · 21/03/2022 08:45

@dancingqueen345 personally I would go with their advice and have it a bit later. Would probably show a tiny blob on the screen at that point.

Natalie2304 · 21/03/2022 08:50

@dancingqueen345 I think it depends on how sure you are about your dates. I had a scan with my first child at 7 weeks and could see a heartbeat
All I'd say is if you keep it then go with not much expectation and the chance that you might not see much

roobearbaby · 21/03/2022 09:13

@dancingqueen345 I had the same thing. I was booked for 6w2d and they rang and suggested moving it to a week later. They are the experts so was happy to take their advice. 1 week and 1 day to go for my scan...feels like it is really dragging

sarahj878 · 21/03/2022 09:15

I’m gutted, I’m 4 weeks today and just tested positive for COVID. I’m absolutely terrified if it will have any impact on the baby

BabyGally22 · 21/03/2022 09:53

Morning, I just did one of those digital ‘how many weeks’ tests and it’s popped up 2-3 weeks even though I am 6 weeks tomorrow…. Does this mean the end and I can expect a MC

smiles39 · 21/03/2022 10:04

@BabyGally22 those measure estimated time since conception. So 2-3 weeks on the tests equates to 4-5 weeks pregnant.

Those tests have huge difference in threshold for urinary HCG between the 2-3 week and 3+ week result. Might be that your HCG is closer to 3+ week threshold but not quite over it yet. I wouldn’t worry.

BabyGally22 · 21/03/2022 10:12

@smiles39 thanks for such a quick reply.... I'm sorry I did it now to be honest, way easier just seeing two lines!!!! God what a rollercoaster and only 6 weeks in 🙈🙈🙈

Jingles85 · 21/03/2022 11:07

I have a scan in 1 week and 1 days time (the 29th right?) and I feel your pain, time is dragging sooooo much. I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday thinking it'll be bad news. Ive had two pregnancies and lost both (ectopic and MMC) and the wheels have always come off for me at that first scan. It's so hard not to be nervous. Really hope we both get really healthy scans with beautiful heartbeats!!

roobearbaby · 21/03/2022 11:24

@jingles85 yes the 29th. We have them on the same day 🥰. Wishing you all the luck for a healthy scan. This is my first time so an feeling very anxious. I'm trying to keep positive thoughts though x

xreadytoglow · 21/03/2022 11:51

@W1ngingit what time is your scan?? Everything crossed 🤞🏼

xreadytoglow · 21/03/2022 11:53

@BabyGally22 Try not to worry. I've read stories on here where women have never had a 3+ but gone on to have healthy pregnancies. I don't think it really means much. Stick to your two lines! Like you say, it's easier that way 😂
I've stopped testing altogether now.. it's been a struggle! Just got to keep the faith that everything is okay. 🙏🏼

Bramblecrumble21 · 21/03/2022 11:56

@sarahj878 there's such a range of symptoms with covid. If you're vaccinated it's most likely to be similar to a cold. If it's any consolation. When I was about 2 weeks pregnant I had a virus (not covid, probably flu as my DH had it much worse than me and DD and he was the only one who hasn't had the flu jab). I had a raised temperature for a day and then heat rash for 2 weeks, but I'm still pregnant. Good luck.

BabyGally22 · 21/03/2022 11:58

@xreadytoglow thanks for that.... I've actually looked at levels like @smiles39 said and she's right the range is huge so I will leave it up to professionals from here on in..., lesson learnt no more home tests, going to take each day as it comes and today I'm having a baby in November 😍😍😍

W1ngingit · 21/03/2022 12:15

@xreadytoglow Hi! Just got home. There are still two embryos and two heartbeats! Thank god. I went in with this dread that neither would be there. Still early days but I'l feel a bit better this afternoon. One of them is smaller, but not too small. They're 11.3mm and 9.3mm. Reality is starting to set in a little bit.

What time is your scan on Thursday? How far along will you be? x

@Cruz86 thank you for your good wishes! Hope you are getting on okay x

@dancingqueen345 I wasn't able to see anything on my first scan other than a yolk sack and gestational sack 5+5, on 6+1 I had two heartbeats, and the same on 7+1. I would have thought at 6+6 it is likely you'll see something, but then again the risk is you don't and you have to spend the money again. I'd say go with your gut - if you can wait longer then go for it. But if you can't its completely understandable!

Cocobeau · 21/03/2022 12:16

I just had a really awkward situation on the phone with a work colleague. I miss-heard something he said and it resulted in a funny conversation about "letting it all out" to each other (as in what's on your mind). He then said "bloody hell, I thought you were about to tell me you were up the duff or something". It was like my brain froze and I went totally silent for what felt like 10 minutes before I finally kind of went "oh god, hope not!" I very much doubt he even noticed but I realised I have no idea how to deal with people that suddenly throw in anything baby related. I didn't really like that I said "hope not", it felt like I was wishing it away.
Anyone else been caught off guard like that?

dancingqueen345 · 21/03/2022 12:21

@Cocobeau yes me yesterday - out for lunch with my mum (who I've not told yet) and Aunties, my Aunties started questioning me on when I was going to have a baby as they always do (body clock watchers), and my mum, bless her, leapt to my defence explaining how well my career was going and how much responsibility-free fun my partner and I were having in our new home 🤣 she will be chuffed to bits I'm pregnant not doubt but I did want to stop her pointing out the positives of not having one yet!

xreadytoglow · 21/03/2022 12:23

@W1ngingit aww that's such excellent news!! Congrats. Yes I bet reality sure is creeping in.. so exciting. I'm struggling to feel pregnant at the min.. I think it's just that doubt that's just overwhelming right now. I can't wait until Thursday to find out one way or another. It's at 10:20 and I'll be 7+2. My clinic don't scan before 7w so haven't had chance to get one earlier!

Bramblecrumble21 · 21/03/2022 12:28

We had a friend stay over and she asked a few questions and I really wanted to tell her but dh and I had decided to wait. She asked if we'd have another child. And I said, yeah, we want to. Later when I wasn't eating very much she asked me if I knew why. I paused then lamely said, I don't know. So I'm pretty sure she's guessing. I few days after that I've decided I'm not hiding it, wanna tell everyone.

I've mentioned before that I've told work at 4 weeks due to wanting a risk assessment and it's mostly really nice and not awkward at all.

The only thing is looks and talks about my 'bump'. I'm 7 weeks, always carry weight on my stomach and never really lost my first baby weight. I'm size 14, I know my stomach is no bigger than 2 months ago and the 'bump' is squishy fat. In fact, my clothes aren't feeling tighter and I fitted into a size 12 uniform the other day more comftably that a couple of months back.

Anyway, rant over.

sarahj878 · 21/03/2022 12:32

@Bramblecrumble21 thank you. I have had a mild cough and cold for a couple of weeks and previously tested negative. Last night my temp went up to 37.5 and I felt achey and congested. Blazing positive this morning. I told the EPU and they are scanning me still on Thursday but I’m ever so worried viruses/temp could have harmed baby. They said to try not to worry because no evidence that it would and they only worry when late in pregnancy and even then they worry about impact on mum not baby. Such a rollercoaster of emotions. My temp has come down now, headache has gone and I don’t feel achey so just going to take it easy and even tho I work from home I'm not working this week.

sarahj878 · 21/03/2022 12:34

@W1ngingit congratulations on your scan

Pamctake2 · 21/03/2022 12:37

@BabyGally22 did you manage to get into the fb group, if not you can message @FourOclock and I'm sure she'll help you with a new link x

sarahj878 · 21/03/2022 12:37

@BabyGally22 try not to worry. The hcg level for 3+ weeks is 2753 whereas 2-3 is 153, a big difference. Maybe yours is just not as high as others which can still be normal as I understand it.
