Hello! Thought I'd start this group as it doesn't seem to exist yet and would be good to hear from anyone due in November! I know it's ridiculously early days but it's nice to have other people going through the same thing at the same time ☺️ x

@Bramblecrumble21

Chello, I called my GP to book into the midwifery service. Last pregnancy I had to take this route. This time, the receptionist send me a link to the maternity services self referral form I could have found online. In my area, I won't hear back until 8-10 weeks but from this thread it varies a lot based on the hospital trusts
Thank you!

Hey guys, had my scan today at 7+4. Couldn’t see much but Good strong heartbeat at 179!! Had issues in last pregnancy which meant I had to go to fetal medicine unit 100+ miles down the road every few weeks.
Feeling positive but strange because I’ve been told I have cysts on my ovaries (never had before) and 2 bleeds within my uterus on either side of my little bean. Asking about chances of miscarriage, she said around 50%, has anyone ever experienced this im so confused and filled with mixed emotions 😞

Motherofpugs · 20/03/2022 15:03

@Kathno4 I had a bleed around the sac with my sons pregnancy. It took weeks for my body to absorb it but everything was ok. My doctor didn’t recommend anything but from my own research I put myself on pelvic rest until it wasn’t there on a scan anymore.

Kathno4 · 20/03/2022 15:15

Thankyou so much @Motherofpugs!! I’ve come home today and felt really sorry for myself so slept since 1 🙃
Unfortunately slowing down seems impossible as Monday to Friday I have to walk at least 4 miles to and from school with the kids and we have haven booked for a week tomorrow. As I said to my partner what will be will be 😘

Pamctake2 · 20/03/2022 17:43

Welcome @Chellooo and congratulations 🥳 you can normally refer online to a hospital when you are ready and they will book a 12week scan. There is also the option of booking an earlier private scan which a lot of ladies do or some will be offered one at their EPU x

@Krista1991 wow how exciting, I can definitely see a line there ❤️

Congrats @fleurrosie @JeanieJ 🥰

@Kathno4 so nice to see the heartbeat but I can understand why you came away with more questions. Like you said what will be will be just take it one day at a time x

SunnyDueNov · 20/03/2022 18:49

We had our private scan today, all ok, baby is growing where it should be and no twin surprises, but I apparently have two fibrosis growing away from the baby, apparently they should be harmless; has anyone else had reports of this?

sarahj878 · 20/03/2022 19:08

Hi everybody, please can I join the thread? I got my BFP on Wednesday after nearly a week of spotting. I’ve had some blood tests which show hcg is more than doubling yay! I have my first scan on Thursday at the EPU when I will be 4w4d. I’ve got some super early symptoms of nausea, leg cramping, extremely hungry and tired. Anyone else had the leg cramps?

BabyGally22 · 20/03/2022 19:11

Hi! First time poster and first time being prregnant after our first ivf go so extremmmely anxious!!!!
Nearly at 6 weeks so have early scan on Wednesday….. can I join the fb group, the links don’t seem to work???

Bramblecrumble21 · 20/03/2022 19:21

Sarahj878 I had leg cramps later in my last pregnancy and bananas helped (the potassium)

Bramblecrumble21 · 20/03/2022 19:24

Just fact checked with Google and it's the magnisium not the potassium in bananas that helps...not really relevant but still. Eat bananas. Lol. One friend recommended bananas in pregnancy for night cramps and another recommended them for a night time snack to avoid morning sickness.

Natalie2304 · 20/03/2022 19:57

Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations on your BFP, wishing you all a happy and healthy 9 months!

Good luck to anyone have a scan in the coming week. I have a private one booked at 7 weeks so just under 2 weeks to wait! But I do have my first appointment with the midwife team for some bloods doing on 28th too.

5+1 today and the boob pain has intensified!

How is everyone getting on?

sarahj878 · 20/03/2022 20:00

@Bramblecrumble21 thank you! Did you get them very early on?

sarahj878 · 20/03/2022 20:01

@Natalie2304 thank you, hope your scan and bloods go well

MLB1984 · 20/03/2022 20:05

@Natalie2304 sorry this is a late response but yes I'm having the same symptoms as you in relation to your stomach!!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ maybe not quite as bad but has ramped up over the last couple of days. I was constipated yesterday but then in so much pain, wind, went to the toilet lots and still felt like I needed to go and made me feel sick, in the night as well. Also every meal today I haven't been able to eat much and wanted to lie down to recover afterwards! I'm guessing it's a form of pregnancy ibs but it sucks so I hope it doesn't continue 🤦🏻‍♀️ bloody hormones! Ha. Hope yours eases soon ❤️ x

@sarahj878 do you know what, I can't remember when I had them. I know it was freezing cold outside at the time and the supermarket bananas were all frost damaged when I went to buy some. That made me irrationaly upset. so that could have been anywhere from 1-5 months pregnant.

Natalie2304 · 20/03/2022 20:08

@MLB1984 thank you for your reply. I was a symptom I've never heard anyone have before so baffled me but it does give me reassurance that it's not just me! Hope it passes for you soon too ❤️
I'd like to give some insight on how to make it feel better but I don't have any yet!

W1ngingit · 20/03/2022 21:42

Anyone having a scan this week? I am having another scan tomorrow. I think that the clinic really sees this as an important step as I'll be 7+1. The last scan showed twins, but I know that sometimes they don't survive. I'm super nervous.

xreadytoglow · 20/03/2022 21:52

Best of luck for tomorrow @W1ngingit I hope you see two strong heartbeats in there. My scan is Thursday, although I've asked them to let me know if there are cancellations on Tues or Weds.

Cruz86 · 20/03/2022 22:10

The only thing I found that worked for me @Natalie2304 was lots of fibre, I was having sunflower seeds every day, but now that I feel nauseous all the time, I can't eat it anymore 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ Let's hope it eases off soon!!

@W1ngingit sending the biggest luck for your scan. Let us know how you get on. Thinking of you.

Xx

polkaqueen · 20/03/2022 23:42

Hello! I had a surprise BFP and now at six weeks. Have my early Private scan tomorrow and feeling a bit nervous!

Due 13 November.

Some twinges around my womb, ovaries, general weird feelings around that area, and sore boobs but that's normal for my cycle. No sickness yet 🤞🏻.

Looking forward to getting to know you over the coming months!

ALittleBitofVitriol · 20/03/2022 23:55

Welcome @polkaqueen, due date buddies! Congratulations! Hope your scan goes well tomorrow. 🙂

Sleepy95 · 21/03/2022 05:54

Hi all! I have my first midwife appointment next week. Sorry if this is a weird question but this is my first pregnancy! I've been told that they will be taking urine and blood samples. Does anyone know what they're likely to be testing for? Will I be told the outcome of these tests and if so, when am I likely to know?
Sorry if this is is a weird one. I won't have a scan until around 12 weeks so I kind of just want to know that all is OK so far 😊

Hello!

The urine is to check for levels of sugar and protein - my understanding is this i primarily to check for evidence of things like pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes. They do the test immediately with a strip dip thing and should be able to give you the result straight away. You'll have a urine test in the same way at every midwife and hospital appointment - they will often ask you to do a sample beforehand and take it with you.

The blood test is for lots of different things: it is effectively a full blood work up. It tests for things like iron level/anaemia, your blood type (relevant particularly if you have rhesus-negative blood) and for antibodies for certain viruses. You'll get the results of your blood test at or before your next regular midwife appointment and it will all be added to your notes.

dancingqueen345 · 21/03/2022 07:37

I have a private scan booked for Thursday when I'll be 6weeks and 6 days (according to Flo) but the clinic rang me yesterday and asked me if I wanted to move it as it may be too early to hear/see anything and I won't get a refund if it is...

How likely is that?! Has anyone else see or heard anything that early? I thought by nearly nearly 7 weeks it would be fine.
