Hello! Thought I'd start this group as it doesn't seem to exist yet and would be good to hear from anyone due in November! I know it's ridiculously early days but it's nice to have other people going through the same thing at the same time ☺️ x
@Cheetocat it's so hard isn't it. My DH is pretty nervous about the entire thing and I feel like I'm absolutely going to drive him bonkers by the non-stop thoughts that pop into my head. He does get not having anyone else to discuss with but I think I might end up telling my sister or friend just to let it out.
Yeah, it's really difficult, I can't believe how long I have to wait. I might just cave and break the news to our families on easter when I am around ten weeks. The thoughts that pop into my head are so funny, we have two cats and I asked this morning "what if one chases the other and she jumps directly on my uterus". I think he'd prefer me to spew those random questions on other people haha.

xreadytoglow · 17/03/2022 16:41

@Pamctake2 thank you. This is my first pregnancy so I think I expected to feel something really profound and be throwing up every day 😂. It's comforting to read others are the same and have had great scans.

xreadytoglow · 17/03/2022 16:43

@Justawannabemam god that is a long journey isn't it.. especially so often. I hope they can do some things locally for you but like you say, silver lining is that you know you're getting the best specialised care.

Question: how many of you ladies are taking iron?
I started off by just taking folic acid and vit d but at 5 and a half weeks I suddenly felt really fatieged, and after a few days a little breathless. I have been aneimc late in my last pregnancy and was on iron tablets. And I felt the same. So on exactly 6 weeks I started taking iron tablets from the supermarket (14mg). I actually had more energy just before taking them, but my energy has stayed. I know iron takes a while to work, so maybe, I had a drop in dietary iron a few weeks before or something. A few days in a felt constipation so dropped to every other day. But today I feel uncomfortable and bloated and even a little pain below my belly button. I'm thinking about dropping the iron and waiting the results of a blood test when it's finally offered. Do most of you take pregncare? My midwife for my first pregnancy was anti pregnecare, discussed diatry vitamins and recommended folic acid and vit d.

Bramblecrumble21 · 17/03/2022 17:53

So I've only taken iron Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, 5 times.

xreadytoglow · 17/03/2022 18:15

@Bramblecrumble21 So I am taking vit d, folic acid, B12, omega 3 and iodine. No iron. I take the rest because I'm plant based.
I'd suggest waiting until a blood test. Can you book in quite soon?

kentiapalm · 17/03/2022 18:35

@Bramblecrumble21 I'm taking a prenatal that has iron in it. I'm also taking extra strength B6 because I read it can help with the nausea.

I didn't take anything last time I was pregnant except for folic acid, and I felt awful up until I was about 18 weeks. I couldn't eat, I had all day nausea. So I'm trying to see if I can lessen that this time around!!

Cruz86 · 17/03/2022 18:36

I can't keep up with this thread 😂😂

@TheBirdintheCave ive just read what you're going through. Sorry to hear you're in such limbo. How are you doing?

@Emmah120595 congratulations!! What amazing news.

@Bramblecrumble21 yes I take Pregnacare reluctantly. I was taking individual vitamins and then I asked a consultant whether it was okay to take B6 and she told me just to have an all in one 🤦🏼‍♀️ If I wasn't having this one, I would probably have a very gentle iron tablet too.

I had a follow up scan at epu today and saw a baby with a heartbeat 🙌🏻 measuring at 6+3 xx

W1ngingit · 17/03/2022 18:46

@Emmah120595 congratulations! I’m also having twins as things stand! Very exciting and nerve-wrecking!

@Celoo@roobearbaby it’s so hard not to tell anybody. When I had a miscarriage 4 years ago we hadn’t told anyone and I ended up having to tell people close to me I was pregnant and had a miscarriage. It was awful. I think you need close friend or family (one or two) who can support you through whatever happens. The whole wait till 12 weeks is a hangover from the past when women wouldn’t tell anyone about their losses and personally I think that’s awful for your mental well-being!

Bramblecrumble21 · 17/03/2022 18:48

Thanks. I just googled foods with b6 and they are all the foods I love. I remember last pregnancy asking a pharmacist about a specific vitamin and she said, in pregnancy, we can only recommend pregncare so I bought some but didn't take it daily.

Frida9 · 17/03/2022 19:10

Hi, sorry to bring the mood of the thread down but I'm 6+5 and have been bleeding today. Not heavy but dark blood and feels like the start of my period. Phoned the midwives and they just said see what happens and call back if you pass clots. Have tried to look at getting an early scan the next few days but the place here only does them from 8 weeks. Bleeding seems to have eased off for now but it still feels like I'm miscarrying. My mum lost a baby 25 years ago and she says what's happening to me is pretty much what happened to her. Will just have to wait the next 24 hours and see if things change.

Cruz86 · 17/03/2022 19:22

Oh I'm so sorry @Frida9. Have you spoken to your gp instead? I'm sure they'd do an urgent referral to the early pregnancy unit for a scan. Thinking of you x

Yeah phoned the GP first and they just say phone the midwife unit. I really want to hope it's not happening but nothing I can do to stop things. Just have to wait and see.
smiles39 · 17/03/2022 20:00

Just wondering… question for first timers - would you expect something from your partner on Mother’s Day this year? 🧐

Cruz86 · 17/03/2022 20:06

That's so frustrating @Frida9. I really hope it's not what you think it is!

TheBirdintheCave · 17/03/2022 20:08

@Cruz86 Really pleased your scan went well! :)

Not doing well :( The EPU were meant to call to arrange us coming in at the weekend to talk through some questions I have but they never did. Now my husband will have to call some time tomorrow :( I thought the spotting had stopped but it does seem to be carrying on a little though I guess that could be from the scan as it was internal 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cheetocat · 17/03/2022 20:40

@smiles39

I don't think I'd expect a gift or even flowers but the acknowledgement would be nice, just being told Happy Mother's day for the first time.
Pamctake2 · 17/03/2022 20:47

@Justawannabemam oh wow, 2.5hrs is a long drive, does that mean you'd have to make it there when in labour? So frustrating when you get given the wrong info 😩

@xreadytoglow it's why I love groups like this, there will be people feeling all types of ways so you never feel alone x

@Bramblecrumble21 I've been taking iron because same as you I was prescribed it towards the end of my last pregnancy. I kinda just take it when I remember. I don't take pregnacare because I've heard that it gives you bad nausea and I don't fancy that.

@Cruz86 yay to another successful scan, so happy for you ❤️

@Frida9 sending you so much love, bleeding doesn't have to mean a MC but I'd definitely book in for a scan if you can or just go into A&E and they will normally refer you to EPU during normal working hours, might be a wait but it will give you an answer either way xxx

I've been anaemic at the end of both my previous pregnancies and I'm determined to avoid it this time (not least because I want to be signed off for a home birth). Iron tablets really disagree with me and give me horrible constipation so my plan is to have a sachet or two of spatone with a glass of orange juice each day and hope for the best!
ALittleBitofVitriol · 17/03/2022 23:49

@Celoo

The range of symptoms that have come and gone for me in the last few days is crazy. If I didn't know I was pregnant I think I'd be worrying there was something wrong with me. I'm 4+5 and the wait for the midwife to call and book the first appointment feels like it's never going to happen.

Is anyone else finding it really hard not to say anything to anyone? I'm 38 so being more high risk I don't want to let people know until I am more confident all is ok.

I'm 37 and we just told everyone straight away haha. Dh says we're too old to play games 😆 I have really enjoyed the support actually. But, even though I've had losses before, I feel as confident as I can due to symptoms. I guess time will tell.
Justawannabemam · 18/03/2022 06:26

@Pamctake2 I'm having triplets so I guess they'd be coming eay and it will be planned. Otherwise they'll have to blue light me 🚑😂

Justawannabemam · 18/03/2022 06:26

Early

LEBee92 · 18/03/2022 06:55

Good morning ☀️

I am joining at 4 weeks pregnant today, according to my app. First pregnancy so still in a bit of shock but definitely happy shock. I’m due 26th November, a week after my 30th birthday. The only people that know is obviously my other half, and then my gym instructor as I want to keep going to the gym but safely. I’m planning on telling my mum next Friday as we are going to a spa for Mothers Day so will have to explain why I can’t use half of the facilities although I would’ve told her anyway for support for whichever way the pregnancy goes.

Symptoms are bloating, light cramps, dry mouth and not being able to get a proper nights sleep! My boobs aren’t too sore, but they’ve filled out a bit at the top. Don’t seem to have any nausea yet but it’s still early days!

Whew - long intro post 😂 hope everyone has a lovely Friday xo
