Hello! Thought I'd start this group as it doesn't seem to exist yet and would be good to hear from anyone due in November! I know it's ridiculously early days but it's nice to have other people going through the same thing at the same time ☺️ x

Smiles 39. My experience is the same. Sit and wait. Trying to think back to my first pregnancy, I'm sure I had the booking appointment earlier, and someone said to me, are you taking folic acid. That could have been a gp phone call though. For the non boob change. I'm only just feeling bigger and slightly sore boobs at 6 and a half weeks. I've got quite small boobs if that's relevent. Now there an ideal size. Lol.

Blue2020 · 16/03/2022 20:31

I have a first phone call appointment with the midwife at 9 weeks and I’m only 6 weeks at the minute. Three more weeks if I can last that long.

I have some sharp pains on my lower right, near my bikini line. Started last night and it’s been on and off short sharp pains. I honestly don’t know what’s normal anymore and what I need to be concerned about.

Tiredness is also reaching a point where I’m struggling to do a day of work. I reached a point of needing to sleep by midday but I pushed through it. I then had a nap at 4-5pm today and I’m ready for bed again already. I will easily sleep from 8pm-6am be fine for 6hrs and then tiredness starts at midday for the rest of the day. Is everyone incredibly tired or is this something I should be talking to the gp about?

Natalie2304 · 16/03/2022 20:55

@Blue2020 I'm only 4+4 and the tiredness is the same for me as it is you. I had a sneaky nap today about 3-4 and I'm already tired again and will be in bed soon. Struggling to get the smallest of tasks done without being hit in the face with exhaustion. It is my 2nd baby though and I've been told it does tend to be worse after your first! (I guess that's because you have less time to relax!)

Nervousdave · 16/03/2022 21:08

@Frida9 I had my midwife booking in appt last week, via phone. I was 6+3 based on lmp, but I will need a consultant review to check risk so wonder I'd that's why it was a bit early. I self referred online when i found out, at about 4 weeks.

Its you/partner/mum's on both sides medical history, plus lifestyle things like does anyone in the house smoke etc, and to give guidance on what to avoid, to take folic acid and vit d etc etc.

I have my appt for bloods etc on Friday 😊

@Blue2020 @Pamctake2 I also get all of the cm all of the time when pregnant apparently 😅 in my last pregnancy I was gutted noone had warned me, it was everywhere 🤣

SonicHg · 16/03/2022 21:10

Hi All, I was completely taken by surprise by the positive pregnancy test yesterday and am trying not to get too excited in case sth bad would happen. Feeling regular period like cramps everyday. I think the whole thing would be more believable once midwife confirms and we have an early scan. Due date 26th Nov.

BubblyOne00 · 16/03/2022 21:23

@Natalie2304

I am 4 weeks and 5 days! How are you feeling lately?

SunnyDueNov · 16/03/2022 21:29

@SonicHg congratulations!! I think it’s natural to be happy. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, but helps to stay positive!

Frida9 · 16/03/2022 21:32

Thanks @Nervousdave I have an in person appointment so guess they'll take bloods then (hope so anyway, don't want to tell work yet and my boss is already acting suspicious because I NEVER need time off for appointments).
I hope it'll feel more real after the appointment, barely any symptoms just now so almost forgetting I'm pregnant

Blue2020 · 16/03/2022 21:33

@Natalie2304 it’s good to know it’s relatively normal regarding the tiredness. Yes mine started just before I found out, maybe just before 4 weeks. It’s getting more intense each week. I mostly don’t have nausea yet though (very minor occasions), so I suppose tiredness is better than that. I have tiredness, sore chest area and a relatively dry mouth. It’s also my first pregnancy so everything is new.

CatLady1994 · 16/03/2022 21:38

@SunnyDueNov

Just wanted to ask the audience whether your midwives have been quick to get back to you once you notified them of your pregnancy? I’m 7 weeks, contacted them 10 days ago and still haven’t heard back. Decided to go private because I’m just too worried about the whole process, being in the more mature mothers, at risk group... wondering if anyone can relate.
I haven't heard a peep since I did a self referral on 20th Feb. Just an email to say if I don't get contacted within 28 days then to give them a ring - so they've got until Monday before I pick up the phone!! 😅
Cheetocat · 16/03/2022 22:02

Is anyone else really thirsty? I've been chugging water like mad. I had to refill my water bottle in the middle of the night last night and it was already empty again by morning! Drank more than two litres today as well as other drinks.

Natalie2304 · 16/03/2022 22:24

@BubblyOne00 I am good thank you. I do have a few symptoms, really really tired, upset stomach (one day constipated, the next stomach cramps and an instant need to go to the toilet, sorry for TMI), bloating, slightly sore boobs.
I also have a very mild metallic taste in my mouth today.
Seems like a lot of symptoms for so early on but I guess some women/pregnancies do and other don't. My first pregnancy was so easy in the first trimester, nothing like this!

Natalie2304 · 16/03/2022 22:24

@BubblyOne00 how are you getting on?

BubblyOne00 · 16/03/2022 22:56

@Natalie2304
I follow this board

Bluehawaii29 · 17/03/2022 06:18

Hello can I join? Found out I am pregnant yesterday so due in Nov 2022 Smile I recognise a couple of you @Justawannabemam and @xreadytoglow from the ivf group xx

Bluehawaii29 · 17/03/2022 06:21

Is anyone looking for maternity bras already? Mine don’t fit anymore and need to get some at the weekend!

Motherofpugs · 17/03/2022 06:23

I think it must vary with each trust. I have a midwife who I can ring or whatsapp if I have any problems (she’s lovely), a booking in phone call at 8weeks & scan at 12 weeks which were all booked in when I registered at 4 weeks.

My symptoms are sore boobs, tiredness, cramps & back ache and waves of nausea - usually worst first thing in the morning. I had HG in my first pregnancy and that started at 5w4d so I feel like I’m not far off the morning sickness kicking in now.

Pamctake2 · 17/03/2022 06:34

@SunnyDueNov I've not contacted Midwives yet but I've booked a scan for 8weeks and will refer myself once I know all is where it should be ❤️

@BubblyOne00 I didn't have any real symptoms my whole last pregnancy, if it wasn't for the bump and movement I wouldn't have known I was pregnant 🤣 just remember symptoms aren't an indication of a healthy pregnancy, you could have full blown morning sickness and have already MC or have absolutely no symptoms and everything be absolutely fine.

@smiles39 yep my first appt last time was on the phone at around 9weeks and it was just a questionnaire then they told me to not drink alcohol and to take folic acid nothing groundbreaking. Is there something specific you were looking for guidance on? Think my first f2f appt with MW was in the 3rd trimester and they just measured bump and listened to babies heartbeat with Doppler.

@Motherofpugs it is definitely a postcode lottery and much better in a trust where they have continuity of care. In my trust you can't contact MWs before 24weeks you'd have to go through A&E if there are any issues 🙄

Justawannabemam · 17/03/2022 07:10

I've got a telephone app with my GP on 23rd, and she will then refer me. My ivf clinic have advised I need to be seen by 10weeks for them to do the routine tests and checks before 12 week stage.

Bluehawaii29 · 17/03/2022 07:30

@Justawannabemam I have my first scan on 13th April and managed to get telephone appt with GP on 27th April. Did you know you can self refer to antenatal? Or is it different with ivf

Justawannabemam · 17/03/2022 07:41

I didnt know I could self refer. When I spoke to my GP they never told me that they said I would see a GP and she would set it up on an app. I'll maybe call them later.

Justawannabemam · 17/03/2022 07:49

The hospital where I will be going doesn't let me self refer ill see if I can get an appointment sooner as it advises to have these checked done at 10 weeks. It's going to be cutting it fine.

Does everyone have the checks done for Downs? What else will they check for ?

kentiapalm · 17/03/2022 07:59

@Cheetocat

So thirsty! And I already drank a lot, I got used to drinking 3 litres a day when breastfeeding my dd.

In my last pregnancy I got really dehydrated in the second trimester and had heart palpitations so I'm determined to keep drinking this time even though the nausea can make it difficult!

Clarps84 · 17/03/2022 09:16

Struggling with the nausea today Blush yesterday I had no symptoms at all, wouldn’t have said I was pregnant! Does anyone have symptoms come and go?

Bluehawaii29 · 17/03/2022 09:37

@Clarps84 yes I know what you mean, yesterday I was nauseous bloated and gassy but today at feeling bit better, boobs are more sore though. I think symptoms definitely fluctuate. Hope you feel better x
