Hey ladies, I'm wanting to book a 4D scan - I'm currently 23 weeks, wondering when the best time to have one that shows 4D? My friend went at 32weeks and said she left it too late as baby didn't have much room! Tia x

I am wondering the same… I went at 29 weeks with my son, I think that was a good time, we got good face and some of the body also in the picture. This time I can’t make it until 30+6 and Im wondering if that’s too late…

Ahh thank you! I was thinking around 29 weeks, I had a sneak peak at my 16 week gender scan and he looked very small/thin! My friend still got some good pics of the face at 32 weeks, was just harder for them to get the images Smile

I had one around 20 and one around 30 weeks. The video/images were good in person, but the take home pictures were genuinely horrendous, they could have been used as stills in horror films. The 20 week one was much better than the 30 week one, i'd do as someone mentioned and do it sooner rather than later. In the later one the baby was a squished blob, I spent the scan wishing they would switch it back to 2D or whatever the normal is :)

FWIW we went for a growth/general wellbeing scan at 38 weeks & they offered to let us see the baby in 3D/4D, though did warn that as the baby was head down and obviously had very little space it might not look great, but we actually got some decent pictures of her face (though I think all the 3D pictures do look kind of terrifying!) and my husband got really emotional as the baby looks just like him!
So I think there's no guarantees & we personally wouldn't have booked a specifically 3D/4D scan but getting to see the baby like that was pretty cool even if the timing wasn't 'optimum'

I went at 26w. Was great!

I had one on Sunday at 29 weeks - best decision ever! This is our second baby boy Smile

We went at 29 weeks but baby didn't co operate. Due to getting covid, we had to put our re scan off until 33 weeks. I was worried it would be too late but we got some lovely pictures.

That’s good to hear @mumofmunchkin, I went at 29 weeks and baby had her arms in front of her face so they kindly booked me in for a free rescan but we can’t go until this Saturday when I’ll be 31+6, so hopefully we’ll get some nice pics if madam wants to show her face! 💖

Thank you! Feel like I'm too impatient to wait too long.. I miss seeing him on screen! Haha but don't want to go too early and not like the experience! X

@SunnySideUp2020 that's good! could you see decent images of baby's face? Did they look thin/small still at 26 weeks?

@mumofmunchkin hope you were okay with covid! I had it earlier on in pregnancy was worrying but all good! I also have anterior placenta so not sure if it would be better getting it earlier or later either 🙈

@jolota that's good! Yeah I can imagine it would be emotional! And yeah I guess it mainly depends on how baby is positioned the time of the scan too!

SunnySideUp2020 · 02/03/2022 14:01
