What gestation was your child born??

Seeing my consultant on Friday and having a growth scan. I am hoping they will deliver him at 38 weeks as I'm already completely fed up at 31 weeks. I had a private scan 2 weeks ago and he was almost 4LB on their measurements!

So if you had a planned c-section due to large baby when was they born please Grin

My first was born at 9lb10oz . My second was sectioned at 39 weeks at 8lb14oz . Measuring large again at 25 weeks this time but haven’t been told when I will have section but assume 39 weeks again.

Hmum0three · 27/02/2022 15:51

@Snugglemuffins4me my first was 8LB 8 at 38 weeks induced, my second they said I didn't need to be induced he was measuring normal then at 38 weeks said we need to get you in for induction he's to big he was born at 39 weeks 9LB 9.

Both consultant and anaesthetist have said he is going to be bigger as he's my third, I'm worried they will give me a date for 39 weeks and then bring it forward because of his size. I won't be able to rearrange child care if they do Sad

My first was born via section at 37 weeks weighing 10lbs 4 oz. I had a section scheduled for 38weeks but my waters broke. Second they wanted a VBAC but she also grew big and was born via section at 38 weeks weighing 9lbs 14 oz.

Hmum0three · 27/02/2022 16:24

@ukborn this give me a bit of hope 🤞🏻 I will ask my consultant to book it for 38 weeks and hopefully she says yes.

Doesn't help he isn't head down Sad

Induced at 38+3 due to DD's size and she was born 8lb12 at 38+6 by EMCS. Not planned section but after she was measuring full term at 35 weeks they were certainly happy to get her out at 38 weeks.

Hmum0three · 27/02/2022 16:57

@daisychainsandrainbows I was induced with my previous 2, they messed up with my 2nd though left it to long and I haemorrhaged due to induction and his size!

39 weeks. I was induced at just over 38 because of mega baby and previous shoulder dystocia but induction took best part of a week Shock And resulted in EMCS anyway. He arrived weighing 9lb 10.5oz which was 99.6th centile on my charts. He was gaining about half a lb a week.

I had a c section 4 weeks ago due to large baby at 39 weeks. They wanted to keep her in as long as possible due to her lungs and to avoid steroids etc. She was a whopping 11lb 5! They think i got diabetes towards the end even though test at 28 weeks was negative

Sammilouwho · 27/02/2022 20:56

I had an appointment at 39 weeks with my consultant who decided he was big (he'd been measuring 50th centile all through) and had my csection 2 days later. He was 9lb 5oz :)

Doublechins · 27/02/2022 21:04

Had a section with my 3rd due to him measuring large (he actually wasn't large at all he was 8lb 12 🙄) they wanted to book it for 39 weeks but I asked to wait until my due date.

JamieFrasersBigSwingingKilt · 27/02/2022 21:21

Mine was measuring on the 99th centile. Planned c-section at just shy of 40 weeks gestation but was 8lbs 6oz. There's meant to be a 10% margin of error with baby birth weights

Phillipa12 · 28/02/2022 16:20

Ive had 4 sections, an emcs with dc1, he weighed 9lb. Dc2 weighed 10.9lb and was delivered at 38 weeks as she was breech. Dc3 weighed 10lb at 39 weeks, they refused to section earlier despite noting previous large babies and no GD. Dc4 was delivered at 38 weeks but that was due to my mental health, they wanted to keep him in till 39+4, he weighed 11.6lbs, thank god they didnt!

Hmum0fthree · 05/03/2022 16:32

@Phillipa12 omg thats crazy 😳

I saw my consultant yesterday they don't do it before 39 weeks due to baby's lungs, I think it quite irritating because they would induce me earlier if I wanted to go down the vaginal delivery route again! I turn 39 weeks on a Friday so just hope they don't wait until the week after Sad

swt123 · 14/04/2022 17:11

My baby is measuring 9lb 1 at 37.4 weeks, 97th centile. My last baby got completely stuck weighing only 6.1 lbs and nearly died due to no staff for c section, so had forceps and huge episiotomy. They said no appointments until 25th for c section so have to just wait and hope I don't go into labour before then!

Peppapig7262662 · 15/04/2022 20:30

Hi op. I had a planned section due to GD and a 'huge baby'
She was work at 39 weeks weighing 8lb 1oz 😂
