Random appointment tomorrow, would you go?

I’ve had a text for an appt tomorrow. It says its with an obstetrician at the antenatal clinic. I am 15 weeks pregnant.

I’ve tried emailing (email bounced) and I’ve called the maternity appts line numerous times but it rings out.

I know I’ve been referred to a consultant (previous baby loss) and to the blood pressure clinic.

I have my toddler twins tomorrow and the hospital is over an hour away so I would be gone at least 3 hours. DH would have to have them whilst wfh. If it’s to see the consultant I definitely want to go, but I have a feeling its a nothing appt eg a blood pressure check. I can cancel it by text but have no other way of finding out what it is.

Would you go?

I had an obstetrician app yesterday it was to discuss my heart condition , new medication , my birthing options due to this and to plan in my appointments with the anaesthetist well in advance to discuss this . Also I get extra scans etc . This is my 2nd pregnancy , I had one before aswel.

Usually they are needed appointments not a waste of time there's ALOT of reasons you have an obs app.

I would go, but if you don't go, cancel asap. Don't just not show up.

Thanks @lms2017 you’re right. Given the state of the nhs, I don’t think they would do unnecessary appts. I had my booking appt on Sunday and there were two midwives there who had lots of no shows. Over half the booked appts didnt turn up so I don’t want to do that. Just need to convince DH it’s worth going/ him juggling work and childcare.

You shouldn't have to convince him that it's worth going to a medical apppointment relating to your pregnancy.

If he can't sort out childcare then just cancel and rearrange the appointment for another time, but you should go. They've booked it for a reason.

I’ve made him sound like an arsehole and he’s really not. Friday is my day off so I should have sorted childcare. I’m sure they will be fine though :)

I rang my maternity unit today and there was an automated message that said "if you are calling me cause you have received a text from us today regarding appointments, it is not a scam and you should follow the text instructions".

I thought this a bit odd but perhaps there is a National appointment hiccup? I'm in Northamptonshire if that helps at all.
