Hey ladies.. First time mama-to-be here, wanting to know your best advice! I’m 37 (took 3 ivf attempts to get here) so I know things won’t be as easy as it might have been with the energy I had 10 years ago! What I’d love is your best tips and tricks for Pregnancy, birth, and new babies. What’s the one thing you wished you’d known, or the thing that made all the difference to you? I’m thinking books, apps, techniques, gadgets, clothes, furniture, toys… anything that really helped or made things easier for you! Or anything you’d do differently next time! Tia Xx

That’s a really good question. I’ve had two babies. Off the top of my head… don’t get sucked into buying everything new. Do look for second hand.

High waisted full knickers in a bigger size are cheaper than maternity pants.

Take an extra long charger for the birth/hospital stays.

Take lots of snacks for after the birth.

Do consider a baby carrier. I had one for my second born and wished I had got on with it for my first.

Buy a buggy to suit your needs. If you’re buying for the bus, look at the size of the footprint of the buggy.

Buy ‘puppy pads’ (I forget the name of them for humans). You can get them in Boots etc. useful if your waters break and useful as back up to sit on after the birth when you’re bleeding.

I’m sure I’ll think of more.
