Hi,
I’m just after other people’s experience with chicken pox

My son is 4 years old and yet to have them, however he woke up this morning covered in red spots. A couple looked like they had tiny tiny blisters on, but they haven’t got worse and haven’t formed into the blisters. I have spoke to gp just to check it was nothing to worry about, however they said to see what happens with it! They are itching him on and off!
Has anyone else has anything similar where it did turn out to be chicken pox but took a while to turn to blisters?

Could it be hand foot and mouth that's going around a lot at the moment x

3 of my Dc had chicken pox when heavily pregnant with Dc4. Their spots appeared gradually over 2-3 days and blistered approximately 48 hours after.

Dc4 had chicken pox last week and one spot on his face on Saturday with others appearing throughout Monday & Tuesday and blistering over the next 48 hours. Not all blistered though, but that of been the bicarb baths.

Sounds like Hand, foot & mouth it looks similar to start with but they appear differently.

Thank you for your replies everyone!
Since I posted, a few more have appeared and some have started to blister, so looking like chicken pox, and the itching is now driving him crazy! 😩
He has an auto immune disease and is always getting strange and un answered rashes and sickness. So quite relieved it’s looking to be pox!
Thanks again :) x

Ah, hope he's ok with it it, we found that long Luke warm baths helped, virasoothe also or callomile lotion. Also am sure you know, so feel free to ignore, but no ibuprofen with chicken pox

Brilliant thank you! I hope so too!
He’s woke up this morning screaming and crying, their driving him crazy! So I’ll try a luke warm bath!
Thank you! X

Piriton is a good help for the itch!

Bethbb123 · 24/02/2022 09:51

Thank you! Just sent my partner out for piriton and lotion! And the bath worked a treat! X

Oats are meant to help in the bath too, although never tried that. Think you put them in tights or similar?

Have you had chicken pox OP?

Bethbb123 · 24/02/2022 11:21

Ohh might have to give that a go also!
He’s not a happy boy today! Seem to be appearing quickly now and in masses!
Yes I’ve had it :) so has my daughter, so something less to worry about x

I second the oats. My DD had chickenpox just before Christmas and I put oats in an old sock and put the sock over the tap to let the water go through. Oats help with itching. Also Aveeno cream has oats in it so I covered DD in it morning and night. She only itched a little. Hope he is ok. X

Bethbb123 · 24/02/2022 23:51
