Gestational diabetes test at 13 weeks?

I've been asked to do my 1 week fingerprick testing starting now. In previous pregnancies it's always been after 23 weeks. I can't do the usual 2 hour test due to stomach issues.

I've never had gestational diabetes.

Anyone else had to do it this early? What would be the rationale?

I just posted on another thread how GD is related to hormone production from placenta and at 13 weeks it's so new that does surprise me!

Family history of diabetes means I'm being tested at 26 weeks, which was arranged from 10 weeks.

Maybe ask your midwife for more info as there must be a specific you reason I'd guess?
