Stretch marks or veins

I’m 36 weeks and I am getting really down as I haven’t had stretch marks through out pregnancy and I know it’s one of those things that you cannot prevent despite how much oil and cream you put on sometimes. However I feel mentally I’m not prepared for it.
Do these look like the beginnings of stretch marks? My skin on my belly is very blotchy, white spots etc so I don’t know.

I feel awful for admitting that I feel down about this.

Hun you're growing a baby, focus on that and not on hating your body. We all have them, makes no difference, and they shrink when belly goes back to normal.

Thank you. I feel like im my brain going crazy about it today. Need to focus on the positives. This is our rainbow baby, and I’m so forever thankful x

Not just saying it to make you feel better but honestly no I don't think that's beginning of stretch marks, just looks like slightly blotchy skin to me.

My stretch marks didn't look like that at all when they started appearing.

This very much looks like veins rather than stretch marks. My bump looked exactly the same at this point (I didn’t get any stretch marks in the end fortunately).

Your belly looks lovely 🙂

Thank you all so much! I was having a really bad day today mentally. Feeling better after reading these messages and getting out on a walk (in the storm aha) ! X

No shame in wanting to get to the finish line stretch mark free
Every time you pee bio oil your bump. Leave it beside the loo roll.
And most important OIL AFTER whilst your deflating as sometimes they appear then

I used the secret saviours pants. £70 odd quid but cheaper than surgery. Maybe grab a pair for the last month?

+I’ve not one mark on my tum. Hips n thighs got a battering but tum is perfect. I can’t rate the pants highly enough. Up to you if you buy the creams too,

I don't think they're stretchmarks, OP. FWIW I think you look fabulous at 36 weeks, I was a ball of puff at nearly 30C last July 😄 I didn't even put that much weight on, but unfortunately had stretch marks, gestational diabetes out of the blue, and the heatwave made me swell up. Bad times! You look fabulous. Lovely kitchen and nail polish too, btw! I think your hormones are speaking now and that's also perfectly normal. Have a cuppa and a slice of cake CakeFlowers xx

Oh and good luck with your rainbow, from a fellow rainbow mum 🌈 xx

I asked myself the same in my last pregnancy at 40 weeks. Mine were actually stretch marks but it was clear after I had given birth...

olympicsrock · 21/02/2022 20:02

Neither! All looks good
