I am 24 wks pregnant with our second child. Its my birthday in ten days and my dh wants to know what to get me. I got everything I need at christmas and to be honest I struggled then as clothes are out of the question as i'm the shape of a barrage balloon and I've got enough smellies to sink a small ship.

I've asked that he doesnt get me a present but that we spend the day together etc but he is hell bent on getting me a present.

What would you ask for that would help you make the most of the pre baby maternity leave? Or that would help you to feel relaxed and pampered...

Good question and one that I faced for Crimbo. So I asked for (and got, thank God) a day of post-natal pampering at my local spa (I'm 37 weeks). I gather that a lot of places do pre and post natal stuff so it's worth a go. Mine is an all day sesh of being massaged and pedicured with grub thrown in and should go some way to making me feel gorgeous again after the birth. Well, that's the plan.

Is that the sort of thing that you fancy?

Sx

Ohh I like that. Its my birthday next month and I will be 34 weeks. I was going to ask for vouchers to my favourite clothes store to indulge myself post baby but if I am anything like last time I will still ve earing my mat clothes for some time after baby

Def vouchers - then you can spoil yourself when baby is here - how about fav hairdressers/beautician/shoe shop/undearwear shop.

Ledodgy · 02/01/2008 15:28

I agree ask him to get you vouchers for a fab hairdressers and get a good haircut just before you are due that way you'll look fab on all the pics.

I got a pre-natal treatment at my local spa - can't wait!

MumOfBillyTheKid · 02/01/2008 16:29

Having had one at 22 weeks and defo going to have one again before LO arrives, I would recommend a pre-natal treatment (I had the E'Spa one - it was wonderful!)

Jackstini · 02/01/2008 16:31

Attilla - you could have a couples day at a spa then you could spend time together and still have your treatments too.
I had a couple of good ones when pg with dd
Where in the country are you?

AttillaTheHan · 02/01/2008 16:50

Preston Lancs.

The only issue may be money. I really don't want him to spend too much as trying to tighten belts before dc arrives...

Body treatment for pregnant ladies. Clarins do one for £44 in their salons. Expensive but pampering.

Jackstini · 02/01/2008 20:27

You could do a day at the Preston Marriott for 49 quid for both of you . Use of the pool/spa etc. is included and you get a 30 min treatment facial/back massage. Could have a bit of lunch too?

Or you can get the espa prenatal treatment for 85 at The Garden of Eden Spa in Whitestake www.gardenofedenspa.co.uk/spa-treatments.html
Hope you enjoy whatever you choose

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 02/01/2008 21:15

I asked for a 'mum to be papmper day' and it was really worth it - def recommend it! Have to say that the one Jackstini recommeded at the Preston Marriott is a bargain!! Looks fab!

A nice handbag or purse for now, or a voucher for a massage plus his promise to babysit, once your baby arrives.
