with your £430 to buy a new loola, creatis, etc etc?

its saving over £100 on mothercare prices.

They have 100% rating and over 1000 items purchased from them.

i'm just worried i will pay for it and then it won't be right. they accept returns. I have to pay by debit card.

WWYD?

how much ?!??!?! for a pram

sorry, but if i was handing over that much cash, apart from wanting a gold plated pram, i would want to push it around, have a play and make sure it is right

false economy if it turns out to be crapola and needs sending back

IMO

scorpio1 · 02/01/2008 14:15

ooh i have had a play etc in mothercare many a time!

i suppose if im worried i shouldn't....

And in my defence lulu its for a pram, arrycot and car seat, bag and footmuff.

What a bargain i hear you shout!

MerlinsBeard · 02/01/2008 14:15

no because its about half that in real shops afair!

Flllightattendant · 02/01/2008 14:16

Who is it pet? I've dealt with a few

Have you tried out the pram irl first? Then you know what you're getting, as Lulu said.

NotQuiteCockney · 02/01/2008 14:16

I'd double check that the feedback they've got is for the same type of item, not 1000 tiny little things, iyswim. I'd also just look at the feedback (or post a link to the seller profile, so others can peer at it), and see if it looks 'right'.

You have to pay by debit card, not paypal? Not credit card? Your options if it goes wrong, with a debit card, are weak.

Any chance you can do cash and collect?

Flllightattendant · 02/01/2008 14:20

Found it already lol! I haven't bought from them but they look absolutely fine. Paypal it if you can, then you're protected.

MerlinsBeard · 02/01/2008 14:20

am just scouting around and seems i muct have seen an amaziong offer because i can't find it now!

Flllightattendant · 02/01/2008 14:20

...suppose you've tried comparing prices at kiddicare etc as well?

scorpio1 · 02/01/2008 14:22

have looked in mothercare and the local private suplliers, and i would be paying £540 for the same package. Am loathe to, we are getting married in 2 weeks and i could do with that change iyswim?!

in what way does paypal protect (am quite new to ebay)

OP posts:
scorpio1 · 02/01/2008 14:23

oh and YES i do have to have that pushchair!

OP posts:
LilRedWG · 02/01/2008 14:23

Looking at them, I'd trust them. Just make sure you pay by Paypal or credit card so that you are protected.

Flllightattendant · 02/01/2008 14:25

Yes, kiddicare is more. Paypal is a system whereby if it is not as described, damaged, or doesn't turn up, you can submit a claim and will be reimbursed for the money you lost - that is if the seller doesn't play fair, but this one looks like a good bet in any case - they would have negatives by now if they were dishonest!
Happy to talk you through paypal if you need help with it later but I doubt you will.
Very wise to check feedback, well done - you'd be surprised how many people don't!

scorpio1 · 02/01/2008 14:27

have been reading through feedback and people have paid similar amounts for buggies from her before, they all say quick delivery, fab, just as described etc.

Thanks all!

I have bought stuff from these guys before - but only Loola accessories - they have a combo package on their site for £375 here.

We have a Loola for dc 3 and have loved it - only let down is the basket underneath which is useless!

Sam100 · 02/01/2008 14:39

Just to make clear - have bought from www.babydaysdirect.co.uk not the ebay seller!

micegg · 02/01/2008 15:10

I buy quite alot from ebay but have to admit I wouldnt buy anything high value like this. I bought my pram from a local shop and paid more than I would ahve from the internet because my first pram broke and I had no one to go back too.

spackcat · 02/01/2008 15:53

I agree with micegg, I am sure the seller is absolutley fine but with a big bulky item like a pushchair sending it back if there is a fault would be a real pain in the arse! It wouldn't necessarily be a problem with the seller, sometimes new things where ever you buy them are faulty and need returning, it's just a lot more inconvienient when it is from the internet, particually ebay.

Kezza7779 · 03/01/2008 17:37

Well, i use ebay for everything!! You should rely on the feedback as geniune buyers have had to leave that feedback and they wouldnt lie. Ive had millions of bargains on ebay and the seller is clearly reputable. At the end of the day these are peoples business's, they have a returns policy, excellent feedback and u are covered by paypal, go for it, if anything is wrong then u send it back no quibble!!
If u want to do some investigating have a look for labels and stitching of the geniune product and compare them to the pictures from ebay, i did this with UGG boots, GHD hair staightners etc and youll see if they are genuine or not!!xxx

Kezza7779 · 03/01/2008 17:44

also havin gjust checked them out they have contracts with all the big name brands and ebay would not allow them to advertise this if not true, i once tried to sell fake burberry bag and they found me straight away and removed my listing!!!! Also i was bidding on a fake Chloe handbag (knowing it was fake) and they removed that listing too, they are right on the ball this ebay lot!!!!

spackcat · 03/01/2008 17:54

That's certainly true kezza, although it is mainly the hassle of returning it (postage costs etc) if there is something wrong with it rather than the reputation of the seller. You are pretty much covered otherwise. Having said that I bought everything off ebay myself, including my travel system! Although this was second hand so saved loads of money anyway. I think if I was buying anything brand new I would still buy from a shop but I never buy anything new anyway!
