hi, two days ago i found out that i am 4 weeks pregnant. i'm 18 and healthy(ish) but have this incredibly debilitating fear of miscarrying. nothing can reassure me and i don't know what to do! waiting 8 weeks for the first scan feels impossible right now :/ any advice?

I get that anxiety, I was a mess until my scan. Trying to stay distracted by keeping busy helped a bit. Could you book a private scan before the 12 week one?

i definitely could but my other worry is booking it too early and not seeing the heartbeat and stuff :/ i'm still not getting 3+ weeks on a clear blue test (i'm 5 weeks 6 days) and i need that 3+ weeks before i can book a scan! so annoying. the anxiety is debilitating :(

Some women never get a 3+ on clearblue and you'll drive yourself mad wanting one, not go mention the expense of the tests. I'm 11 weeks now and stopped testing when I got 2-3 weeks. I understand the anxiety and worry because I'm the same but honestly, try to enjoy your pregnancy. I was pregnant with my first child at 18 and just took every day as it came. If you've not had a loss before that can help with reassurance of a perfectly normal pregnancy.
Lots of baby dust to you!

thank you so much! honestly no one tells you how terrifying it can be! my sister unfortunately suffered loss so it's hard for me to be optimistic but i think once i get to my booking appointment my worry will subside :) thanks for ur help! hope you have a healthy pregnancy.

I waited until 8 weeks for my first scan as knew if there was a heartbeat at this stage it is a good sign - didn't want to get there and be sent away without reassurance... it was hard but worth the wait 😊 I am sure all will be ok but I know the absolute fear (17 weeks now and still very anxious of something going wrong!)
