Just wondering how long it took you to name your baby?

I hate all names and am due in 2 weeks. Have decided just to not bother thinking about it for now!

I've read even though the birth has to be registered within 42 days you have a year to name a child....

Previously the longest I've taken to name my baby was about a week after they were born, but i had 2 names i liked to choose from. This time have none 😞🙄

Six weeks for me.

5 days for me. We couldn't think of one before she was born. It was made harder because we didn't know the sex. My mum said that I'd know what she was called when I saw her. When she was born me and hubby were still clueless.

I felt pressure to name the baby so settled on the first name my husband suggested. I usually like traditional names and we have her a bit of an unusual name. Now I regret rushing into it, as sometimes have doubts that her name will suit her through her life.

If you're not sure, take your time, as long as baby is named by the time the birth needs to be registered, it'll be fine

We didn’t have a name picked for DD1 while I was pregnant. I had a long list but just couldn’t narrow it down. Then ExH came out with one that wasn’t even on the list about an hour after she was born and that was it.
DS had his name from the moment we found out he was a boy at 20 weeks.
DD2 didn’t have a name until she was 5 days old.

my niece finally got a name at 6 weeks old, on the way to the register office Grin

I hate all names too OP (at the moment). I remember saying in jest when I had DD good job she is a girl because I could never pick a boys name! Poor DS is going to be called Little Baby at this point.
