Pregnancy symptoms of girl but expecting boy!?

Hi! I just found out I am having a beautiful healthy little baby boy.
But I'm so shocked, I genuinely was expecting to have a girl due to the symptoms I've had! And everyone I've spoken to thinks the baby was gonna be a girl😂

I've had Extreme morning sickness, craving chocolate/sweet stuff, heartbeat over 140! I never had anything like this with my first little boy only heartburn and craving salty stuff! I'm still in shock and questioning if it's correct 😂
Anyone else experienced this?😂

I had exactly the same symptoms with my first, a boy.

I suspect there is little science to the boy/girl symptoms idea

Factsnotfudge · 16/02/2022 21:04

Yep. First boy was a dream pregnancy felt the best I’d ever felt. Second boy as sick as a dog, felt absolutely dreadful the whole pregnancy.
Needless to say I don’t believe there is any science behind the sex affecting symptoms.

I have had 2 boys , my first I was extremely sick for 17 weeks. My second I had nausea for the first 12 weeks . Here I am on my third and suffering from nausea and more recently sickness .. another boy I will presume 😂

Alicenwonderland · 16/02/2022 21:20

I have 3 boys and a girl. Same symptoms with them all, carried them the same way, I don't think you can tell!

Marcipex · 16/02/2022 21:39

I had no morning sickness with my girl, and terrible morning sickness with my boy.

There's absolutely no link to any of the stuff you've listed. They're old wives tales.

Yep, symptoms are symptoms of pregnancy, not of boy or girl, obviously.
CoalCraft · 16/02/2022 21:54

No such thing as girl symptoms or boy symptoms, just pregnancy symptoms!

inappropriateraspberry · 16/02/2022 21:55

Load of tosh. Symptoms have nothing to do with the sex of the child.

CaliFrown · 16/02/2022 21:57

Identical pregnancies with all of mine, regardless of whether girl or boy.

FedUpOfLighteningCrotch · 16/02/2022 22:02

Both of my pregnancies were/are exactly the same and I’ll have one of each come March 🤣

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 16/02/2022 22:05

I had completely different symptoms with both of mine. Both girls.

2littleloves · 17/02/2022 12:01

With both my boys I was sick every morning then felt sick rest of day, craved cleaning and savoury things. With my girl I've been spotty, exhausted, craving sweets and violently sick to the point of needing to take 6 tablets a day still at 17 weeks. Also my hair growth has slowed down with my girl!

Peoplearetwats · 17/02/2022 12:05

Hyperemesis 3 times and have 3 girls

RavenclawsRoar · 17/02/2022 12:12

I wish having boys meant no pregnancy sickness! I have 3 boys and with each one vomited multiple times a day for at least 20 weeks (it was so bad with one I was diagnosed with HG). Aside from the sickness, I had very different pregnancies with each. I really don't think the sex of the baby has anything to do with how you feel. I also don't believe heartburn means the baby has a lot of hair because I lived on gaviscon with my third and he was born with a very disappointing crop Grin

emmaluggs · 17/02/2022 12:15

Exactly same symptom for both my boys. I should imagine the ultrasound is much more reliable than cravings!

notmelurking · 17/02/2022 12:19

Perfect pregnancy for my first (boy) all boy symptoms, no sickness, glowed the whole pregnancy, craving savoury!

Currently 33 weeks pregnant with second boy. Got diagnosed with hg, never suffered with spots but I'm covered in pregnant acne, carrying different, bad heartburn! I generally thought he might have been a girl.

Don't think there's much different and just old wives takes.

Soontobe60 · 17/02/2022 12:41

2 completely different pregnancies here, 2 girls.
Dsis 5 pregnancies all quite different-all boys🤣

This.

I was convinced I was having a boy. No morning sickness just a bit of nausea. Craving gravy, everyone told me it was a boy based on how I was carrying, convinced I saw a willy on a scan.

It was a girlGrin

ChloeHel · 17/02/2022 13:32

So interesting reading this! I had terrible morning sickness with my first girl until about 20 weeks, sick most days but bearable. I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and I’ve been diagnosed with HG. The sickness is unreal compared to the sickness with DD. Everyone keeps saying oh definitely another girl then, but from these answers possibly not! Very excited to see.
