Missed miscarriage at 6w

Hello. Can someone who experienced missed miscarriage tell me if it's normal that brown spotting turned into pinkish discharge but no blood or cloths? Been spotting since Saturday and I really want to avoid D&C. Not sure how to help it.

Thank you

Vacuuming saw me mc at work. An intact 8 week old foetus...

Sorry I don't quite understand 🤔

The motion of enthusiastic vacuuming started actual contractions.

AlmostLondoner · 15/02/2022 17:26

@easterbunnyiswindowshopping oh, I would never thought of that! I was vacuuming hour ago but maybe not enthusiastically enough 🙄😅 I might do some jumping jacks or something 🙄🙄🙄

@AlmostLondoner hi op really sorry for your loss. Maybe call your local epu and ask how long to expect the spotting to turn into bleeding ? I decided to take the tablets for my mmc as I just wanted it over with personally

AlmostLondoner · 15/02/2022 17:33

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits unfortunately my country doesn't allow those pills (stupid 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️).

I called my obgyn office and nurse said to come once I finish bleeding even though I told her I am only having brown discharge. I might wait for a big longer and maybe call again? I really don't want D&C 😢

OP are you currently 6w? Or are you further along in dates but miscarried at 6w?

I'm very sorry for your loss.

However, it's not really a MMC if it happened that early & you are bleeding.

At 6w, it may be the case that your blood loss will be minimal as it is so early.

For now, I would monitor what's happening. It sounds v unlikely you withdraw require an ERPC (previously called D&C)

I've experienced pregnancy loss including MMC (15 weeks) so do understand how hard this is.

A scan on the Tuesday morning showed no hb. I passed on the Thursday afternoon.. Not sure if it was different as I have dc and given birth before...

AlmostLondoner · 16/02/2022 11:56

@EarringsandLipstick I should be around 11w now but fetus died at 6w, or measured 6w no heartbeat. I've known for 2 weeks now.

All is happening is occasional belly pain and some spotting which is becoming lighter. No proper bleeding or passing tissue 🤷

I finally miscarried at 11.5 weeks with a 6w sized foetus. Hope it’s over for you soon 💕

Machina01 · 16/02/2022 12:15

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Is there any particular reason you don’t want a D&C? Having gone through a natural miscarriage and 2 D&Cs for MMCs, I’d take the D&C any day.

They can also test the tissue for possible causes of miscarriage so sometimes there’s useful information for other pregnancies.

AlmostLondoner · 16/02/2022 12:28

@Machina01 mostly because it's risky and quite unnatural. But I won't avoid it if obgyn says it's necessary of course.

@Pamparam I am sorry for your loss. I hope it will happen soon for me too
