I thought it was usually not before 12 weeks. I am 9 and a bit weeks and thought today I felt flutters. This is my third pregnancy - not sure if that makes a difference. Am I just imagining things?

10 weeks with DS1 and 11 weeks with DS2

its possible and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, if its your third you're probably much more tuned in anyway

congrats

Toothyboy · 01/01/2008 20:56

I'm sure I felt ds2 at 10 weeks - he's now 22 months and still hasn't stopped moving, so I'm pretty certain I was right!

IlanaK · 01/01/2008 21:04

And what did it feel like to you? For me, it was a very slight fluttering. On and off for a moment or two.

Sometimes it felt like flutters, sometimes it felt like an involuntary tightening of a muscle deep inside my abdomen.

Pheebe · 01/01/2008 21:41

sometimes a flutter sometimes that feeling you get when you go too fast over a bump but really faintly

whomovedmychocolate · 01/01/2008 21:41

I'm 9 weeks 6 days and I have felt them. But only the once - second pregnancy. But I'm quite thin in the middle (or I am when I'm not pregnant, I look like I ate a football at the minute )

minspugs · 02/01/2008 09:53

17 weeks when i definitly felt (and saw) movement with #3, with dd1 & 2 it was 18 weeks. i thought you couldnt feel movement so early as baby is down behind pubic bone till 12 weeks and then after this is to small and week to make much of an impact. was of the understanding that 14 weeks was the earliest. but if your sure its not a fart or muscle spasm then congrats, i love feeling my baby wiggling about. not so sure about the rib attacks though

franke · 02/01/2008 09:56

IlanaK - I'm also on my 3rd pg and felt flutterings exactly as you describe around 11 weeks. Now about 22 weeks and being kicked ALOT - this baby is way more active than my other 2, both of whom I didn't feel until around 20 weeks.

franke · 02/01/2008 09:58

minspugs I also thought I couldn't feel anything so early, but this was so unmistakebly a feeling associated with pregnancy. I was really surprised.

isaidno · 02/01/2008 10:03

I'm 14 weeks, and I've felt tiny movements for the past fortnight - not everyday, but often. Before that there were a few times I thought I might have felt it, but wasn't sure.

This is my 3rd pg so I know what it feels like.

Im 9 weeks also and I feel a 'bubbles' sensation, haven't linked this to feeling the baby as I believe the baby at the moment is only an inch or so long and is still way down below....but who knows....

finallypregnant · 02/01/2008 11:31

I( am 15 weeks and have felt something over the last 10 days I'd say.

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 02/01/2008 12:51

14 weeks was the 1st time I felt flutters. I was in the bath and it was the strangest feeling - like I was being tickled inside! Now 23 weeks and baby is a kicker for sure!

Mummywannabe · 02/01/2008 13:21

Glad someone else posted about this im 13 weeks (1st) and has a feeling last night i was sure was baby moving. very light fluttering, DH thinhs i'm nuts but so sure it was something i have never felt before. Not sure if relevant but had full bladder at time (Tmi ). Guess will have to wait and see!

Orissiah · 02/01/2008 14:19

I've had a few flutters/bubbles but have always assumed they are intestinal or basic uterine twinges.

O
Nearly 19 weeks

ChinaSurprise · 03/01/2008 12:59

Got flutters at 12 weeks, what I thought might be a kick at 14 weeks and proper bootings in the tum on Xmas Day (16 weeks).
Now 17+2 and I can feel wriggles all the time, and a kick once a day or so.
My mother told her mw she felt my brother at 10 weeks. MW said "that's impossible - it must be twins" and sent her for u/s (v rare then) - she was so freaked out!
Turned out it wasn't twins, but as he was DC3 she was just more aware. I doubt you're imagining it - lucky you!

I felt flutterings at 10 or so weeks with ds2 ...I told the consultant at my nuchal scan expecting him to tell me not to be ridiculous and he said other women had told him that too...
