Hi all,
I'm due to have my 1st baby any time now (due date 5th Jan) and have been having period type aches now for a few days but no contractions other than Braxton Hicks (since 30 weeks). Today there was a gungy discharge on my pantyliner (browny red) but only a little. Could this be part of the 'show' / mucus plug? I thought it would be more substantial. Would love to hear from anyone with thoughts or experience of this. Want to know if labour is imminent!
Thanks so much.

Sorry can't help but will be keeping an eye on this thread as I'm due 3rd and getting some discharge so would like to know.
Hope you get your answer soon.

Same due date as you Chikoo and i had something similair a couple of weeks ago but didn't think there was enough for it to be a show but didn't get a show with dd so who knows!

Ledodgy · 01/01/2008 19:12

It sounds like a show to me , a show can be part of the mucus plug not necessarily all of it. With ds I had a small show like you described a couple of days before I went into labour and then a massive show just before I gave birth.

Yes you don't always get all your show at once so to speak! There is a lot of mucus with blood though so its quite obvious what it is when it comes IYSWIM.

It sounds like a show, it can start to appear up to 2 weeks before labour starts, but at least its a good sign, I had a sweep with DS and it looked like something you would find in a giants tissue after blowing nose(mixed with old blood) as there was so much.
DD it was just very little bit a couple of hours before labour started.
Good luck hope things start off soon for you.

lol at the giant's tissue Josey!I was talking to my mum the other day and she asked if i had had any 'you know, changes down there' I said no, no fanny snot yet and she cracked up - was being careful what she said because stepdad was in the room. I only ever have a show after I'm in active labour
