DTD, Ovulation ☺️

I'm on CD12 today so according to Pre Mom I'm in my fertile window.

Its saying that my predicted ovulation day is CD15. Could I ovulate earlier or later than this CD? or would that be unusual with my having very regular cycles lasting 29 days?

I am using OPK's to track too!

Also me and my partner have already been DTD these past few days, is this going to be beneficial if I do ovulate on CD15 seen as sperm can live for upto 5 days? Is that right?

Thanks ☺️☺️☺️

The answer to all your questions is maybe.

Not a prefect science.

Your cycle length doesn't determine your ovulation date - in a 29 day cycle you could be ovulating anything from approx CD13 - CD20 and occasionally earlier or later.

I'd recommend using ovulation testing strips to help pinpoint your ovulation day. You app is just guessing based on you being halfway through your predicted cycle, it doesn't know what's happening inside your body!

@ButFirstTea I am using the easy at home OPK's and inputting each test into the Pre Mom app. They're all giving "low" readings at the moment but on some the line is appearing to get darker.

Ah I see - is this your first month tracking? They might be right that it's CD15 but could just as easily be earlier or later depending on your usual luteal phase length. Fingers crossed you get a positive OPK soon!

@ButFirstTea Yes it is my first month tracking ☺️ I started doing these OPK's two days after my period finished this month.

Hopefully I get my positive soon!

Hi @allthingssparkly
My experience was that the OPKs are good but the app isn't always great at reading them- i.e. mine never gave a high reading even when the lines were really quite dark so maybe keep on eye on the sticks yourself when trying to identify the peak.

In terms of DTD I thought I read sperm quality was better if you did every other day so I'd focus on beforenad but maybe keep going after the peak so for CD 15- 11,13,15,17

@JuneySunshine Ah thank you for letting me know that, it's my first time using the app and the easy at home OPK's, I will keep an eye on the sticks myself too as well as adding them to the app.

We will continue to DTD once I see a peak, hopefully I'm not too far off now 🤞🤞

@JuneySunshine So far we've DTD 7th, 10th, 12th and 13th so hopefully some of these dates may contribute 🤞

I got this test result on one OPK yesterday evening, which really looks like both lines are near enough as dark as each other. When I have added it to my tests on Pre Mom it gives a low reading of 0.57 🤔

@allthingssparkly Sounds like you've got the days covered :)

This is what I mean about the app, it might be disgusting (sorry if so!) but I resorted to cutting off the end of the stick I'd dipped and stickytaping everydays OPK into a A4 notebook with the CD written next to it so I could look down the page and see the pattern in the lines that way.

allthingssparkly · 15/02/2022 07:59

@JuneySunshine I really hope so 🤞

Ahh yeah that makes sense, my only problem with that is that I dispose of the tests once I have taken pictures of them and uploaded to Pre Mom 🙈
