I'm 39, high bmi, unexpected pregnancy after ttc for 20 years (we have a 20 year old daughter).

I've been really anxious to this point and I've had a few private scans, all OK so far.

I've got the IONA nipt today, they said they would do a quick scan but I'm worried. I'm worried before every scan that there will be no heartbeat and then I'm really stressing out that if there is and they so the nipt blood test I'll get a high risk result. My anxiety is through the roof today.

@Carebear99 have you spoken to the midwife about your anxiety, I was given details for a local team that help with anxiety. I had the NIPT last week and scan, the reason it's worth talking to the midwife about your anxiety is because the waiting for the results might set you off as well, I'm on day seven of waiting now and hoping I hear back today

Hi @annlee3817 thank you for you reply. I'm told the IONA test results are fairly quick but who knows. I told the midwife I was feeling like this, I've felt like this from the moment I found out 5 weeks ago. She said they can refer me to the lavender team when I'm 26 weeks or something like that, but it doesn't help me now. I have convinced myself from day 1 of every bad thing that could happen

Might be worth contacting them again and asking for support now, the link I was given was for at any point in the pregnancy, hope you get some help, anxiety is hard
