Can anyone advise/ reassure me? I'm 32 weeks and for the past day or 2 I've had a sharp pain in one spot just beside my belly button. It's much worse when I bend, stretch, roll over in bed etc and I'm starting to get a bit concerned as it's worse than yeaterday. I generally feel a bit achey but that spot doesn't really hurt unless I move around. I've had a few (I think) braxton hicks and baby is still moving around as usual. I'm pretty sure it's not trapped wind and doesn't feel like UTI so is it likely to be stretching pains? Only other significan detail I can add is that baby was breech last week. Any advice would be much appreciated.

hi haylstones, cant offer any reason but i wouldnt think it would be unusual to have some mild pain, especially if the baby is shifting position at this stage. maybe you strained something even. If you feel at all worried phone your mw. best of luck

It might be abdominal separation, where the muscles of the stomach gradually separate and loosen over the course of the pregnancy. If it is that it is quite common and is made worse by lifting and stretching, sometimes if you have to keep picking up a toddler! I am no expert and certainly have a word with your midwife if you are worried, but it does sound like that to me.

Thanks, have been doing quite a bit recently so might have strained something.
