Morning sickness treatment

Hi all,

So I am 6+3 and for the last week I have suffered with what I’d say is quite bad morning sickness. The nausea is 24/7 and never ends and I’m being sick around 3-4 times a day. Finding it so depressing and debilitating! I had it with DD but luckily that was during lockdown so I was off work and just lived between the bed and my toilet! I had promethazine last time but it’s just not touching the sides. I’m struggling this time round as I have my 16 month daughter to look after.

I just wanted to know what medication you found the best to tackle this and make you feel human again? Thank you!

Hi!

Sorry you are feeling so awful - morning (or rather all-day!) sickness really is dreadful.

I’m pregnant with no.2 and also suffering. The GP started me on cyclizine but it didn’t really do much - now taking cyclizine, metoclopramide and prochlorperazine. My advice is to get on to them asap and tell them you want anti-sickness meds. If GP won’t do anything and you are still being sick that much, try 111 as they may send you to hospital for fluids if your ketones are high and hospital will prescribe anti sickness meds.

Thanks for the advice! I’m going to ring them for an urgent appointment tomorrow! Have you found the combination of all three is helping well? I was thinking of pushing for cyclizine or prochlorperazine!
