Hi,

Currently 34 weeks and I have been experiencing uncontrollable body shaking since Friday afternoon. Temp has been fine, no fever or feeling cold.

Anyone experienced the same? Should I be concerned?

Thank you

I'd recommend you phone your local maternity triage and get yourself seen, they can check your Blood pressure is normal etc as it can sometimes be linked to that.

Barrawarra · 12/02/2022 22:49

I’d definitely get checked to see if there’s anything up, might be nothing but pregnancy does all kind of weird and wonderful things to the body!!

@sunnymamaroo I was in on Friday to have BP monitoring and was sent home with BP medication and BP machine. I have been checking my BP and it has been controlled with the medication.

I would definitely be seeking medical advice. You have absolutely nothing to lose by doing this.

BammBamm · 12/02/2022 23:22

OP please go and get checked out as a matter of urgency. Is there a chance it could be sepsis?

cultkid · 12/02/2022 23:26

Go to the labour ward right away

cultkid · 12/02/2022 23:26

Sounds like an infection

elenacampana · 12/02/2022 23:27

Call your MAU or just go in, this isn’t the place to seek advice.

cultkid · 13/02/2022 13:58

Did you go and get help, how are you?

flushthetoiletagain · 13/02/2022 13:59

Has it stopped with the medication?

underneaththeash · 13/02/2022 14:01

It can be a side effect of certain medications for high blood pressure. You need to get it checked out.

Thank you for all the replies. It did calm down last night and have been fine today too. I have an appointment tomorrow with consultant so will let them know too.

I was recently given nifedipine (blood pressure medication) and experienced uncontrollable full body shaking. Very disconcerting.

This was in a hospital setting, however, so it was noticed immediately and they had to raise my blood pressure artificially via an IV drip.

Please get seen..
